Seems definitive to me. Perfect, everything there. I hope the tracklist Amazon is currently showing (see above) turns out to be the correct one. If so, this BDA will have the same bonus tracks as the first CD remaster from long ago, which were the best bonuses of all the iterations of Pet Sounds which have been issued over the years.

My favorite version of "Pet Sounds" is the MFSL. SACD. Absolutely breathtaking.

Of course I will probably get this, why stop now. :roll:

The DVD Audio disc Highlights for me were the vocal only tracks In 5.1 . Stunning!

Isn't the surround version really just a quad mix?

If it's the same mix, then it's 5.1 with almost no centre channel content. It basically sounds like 4.1.

I'd still like to see an edition with all Brian vocals, which I believe might be possible to create from the sessions.

I have some "Sea of Tunes" releases where it is just Brian singing (most pre- Pet Sounds) and the guy sings like an angel.

Looks like a week after "Love & Mercy" is released in the theaters. And of course we will have the 2nd iteration of SACDs to be released as well. It's going to be a killer Beach Boy summer!

Just got an e-mail from Deep Discount cancelling my long-standing order for the blu-ray audio due to lack of stock. I get the feeling it isn't going to happen. Any further info av?

There is a new batch of SACD's from APO. Don't know anything about the blu, though.

The Pet Sounds Blu-ray Audio is in limbo, so I've marked this thread as cancelled FTM. Universal's most recent standalone BDA was for Nirvana:

One has been hinted at, but not yet confirmed, for Simple Minds:

There are no other rock BDAs in the pipeline right now. This might be a good time for Audio Fidelity, Mobile Fidelity and Analogue Productions to update from SACD releases to Blu-rays.
