Description
The Very Best of Bad Company “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy” is a career spanning collection from all six Swan Song albums plus two previously unreleased tracks.

The 19-track collection spans 1974 and 1982 and features many of group's best-loved songs, like Can't Get Enough, Feel Like Makin' Love and Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy.

Longtime fans will certainly appreciate the inclusion of previously unreleased alternate versions of Easy On My Soul and See The Sunlight. Both of these are different versions than the ones that appeared on the deluxe editions Bad Company and Straight Shooter.

Singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Paul Rodgers along with guitarist/songwriter Mick Ralphs, bassist Boz Burrell and drummer Simon Kirke recorded Bad Company's eponymous debut in 1973. When it was released in 1974, the album was an instant smash and climbed to the top of the album charts. Since then, it has been certified five-times platinum. It features such instantly recognizable tracks as Movin' On and Ready For Love, which are included on this new collection.

Hard to believe but this is only their 2nd "best of" (or 3rd if you count the 2 CD Original bad Co Anthology as a best-of).

This actually gets most of it right, so I'd expect it to do well.

"Youngblood" was a Top 20 single, but I guess they want to monopolize the songwriting royalties.

That one should be there along with "Rock Steady" but really this is a good collection.

As for "Young Blood" that was indeed a big hit but lord, I hate it. Glad it's absent.

I hope this doesn't spell the end to the other four studio albums getting the deluxe treatment...

That was my first thought too. I want the next set of albums re-mastered as well. The new ones sound great!

Really frustrating that they would leave those 2 tracks off, all while including less songs. Also, not essential, but "Oh Atlanta" gets airplay, certainly more than some of the random songs on here.

Atlantic's description says two unreleased recordings, but only one is noted as such in the tracklist. Also, some tracks are "2015 remastered", others are remastered without a year specified, and most don't mention remastering at all.

The promotional sentence on the Amazon site includes this passage:

"The Very Best of Bad Company “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy” is a career spanning collection from all six Swan Song albums...."

How can it be "career spanning" while limiting itself to the only the first six albums. Career means the whole kit and caboodle.

"See the Sunlight" was actually previously released on the Deluxe Version of Straight Shooter. "The Stealer" is previously unreleased by Bad Company. It was originally released as a single by Free from the Highway album. It was re-recorded by Bad Company during the sessions for Run with the Pack but not included on that album.

I agree, but it's not the band's career--not even the original lineup's career.

almost, other than the 4 songs they did for the best of set in the early 2000's.

Rock Steady is (in my opinion) their best ever song, and it's not on this new CD

i know IP will disagree (i am prepared for it :)), but bad company with brian howe instead of paul rodgers is just like journey with the 3 perry lookalikes soundalikes instead of steve perry.

i got rid od any bad company i had that didn't have rodgers, just like i did with journey.

Well actually, it pretty much is. Well, the classic era, at any rate.

But to me, it aint Bad co without Paul Rodgers.

Seems like Bad Company has always had problems with their compilation albums. 10 from 6 implies 10 songs from their first 6 albums, but there is actually nothing on it from Burnin' Sky (the song "Burnin' Sky would have been the obvious choice). And then when The Original Bad Company Anthology came out, and they had two disks to work with, they still messed up. They include "Burnin' Sky" but leave out "LIve for the Music" and "Electricland", both of which appeared on 10 from 6! Go figure. Looks like they did a decent job for one disc with this one though.

I really liked the post-Rodgers Bad Company. At least Ralphs & Kirke tried to change the band name but the label wouldn't permit it.
