Bites that Hey Baby (one of his best songs, which I don't believe was ever truly finished) isn't included; but I'm in on this one. Obviously would prefer hi res.

Here's the possible deal on the missing song, from a post on The Second Disc:
To answer your question, while Jimi could normally be very skillful at re-tuning his guitar “on the fly” mid-song, in this instance, Jimi’s guitar got so drastically out of tune, that even he could not re-tune it. Jimi never started the vocal for “Hey Baby(New Rising Sun)”, and simply found a way to quickly bring the song to an end. The tuning issue is so drastic that no modern technology could fix it. The omission of this track is merciful….to the fans and to Jimi’s reputation.

It's easy to forget that JH performed before the invention of the Floyd Rose bars, & his frequent use of the old Fender "whammy bar" raised havoc with guitar tuning. It's amazing he stayed in tune at all (I'm being serious).

The Woodstock cd is also missing a song. During the set second guitarist Larry Lee (?) sang a Curtis Mayfield song called Gypsy Woman that is not on the set. I believe for the same issue, that Jimi's guitar was so badly out of tune it was almost unlistenable.

No, I have that track (SBD) and another called Mastermind which was also sang by Larry Lee. Both songs are great and should have been included on the CD.

Ransakawa, I just read in several reviews on Amazon that this is the same show as disc 4 of Stages & that the Stages version has Hey Baby. Do you know yet if this is worth picking up if one has Stages?

Answered my own question (at least partially). While 2 reviewers on Amazon said Hey Baby is on Stages, it is not. This still has 5 more songs then Stages.
I guess my current ?'s would be: are the 5 performances quality (i.e. is it worth getting when I have Stages)? And how does the sound quality compare to Stages?

Very nicely done production on all counts. Picked up the vinyl and CD today at FYE.
I have no affiliation with the FYE Music Store franchise. Having said that, let me say that FYE (housed within my local shopping mall) is now my go-to store for physical music product. They invariably have what I want; 98% of the time, on release day. Prices are reasonable.
So...I can now bid farewell to Target, Best Buy, WalMart and Fred Meyer, who all, over the past year, seem to be steadily depleting their music and movie sections.

Fye here has more than anyone else (with the possible exception of the Lakewood Barnes & Noble; last time I was at B&N years ago it was books only). That said, where I live Fye has closed 75% of there stores (there clearance outlet used to be one of my suppliers, but it's closed also), & the local Fye is only cheap on ancient budget catalog.

The clearance stores had some Amazing deals. There was a time I was getting Factory Sealed Mo-fi's for under $5 (Borders was blowing them out in 1998 also)

I never bought a thing from them. I thought the prices and selection were pitiful.
I never used to buy a thing from them either, for the same reasons you give. I gave them another chance and found that they've changed their prices and selection for the better. Again...not affiliated in anyway...but when the pickin's are as slim as they seem to be these days, it's nice to have a go-to store.
