Bolan was just someone I could never get into remotely.
I tried through the years.
Just not my thing.

Just not my thing. GH is as far as I've been able to go. I always wanted to really like Bolan, but never pulled it off either.

It's nice that this spans his entire output, unlike many other Bolan comps that stop after ELECTRIC WARRIOR (1967-1971) or start at THE SLIDER (1972-1977).
Still, it's very oddly sequenced -- "Funky London Childhood" is an outtake, "Sailors of the Highway" is a BBC recording, etc, while many of the other cuts are A and B sides.
And personally, I would have ensured that "Jupiter Liar" made the cut, one of his best late-period tracks.

Until 2002's 20th Century Boy: The Ultimate Collection, it was hard to find a decent T-Rex anthology. I was thrilled when it was released, and then a year later a friend at Warner Music Group was unloading all of the 2-CD editions of their catalog and I happily added them to my collection. It's probably a little more T-Rex than I need but there's a lot of good stuff on those albums that didn't appear on the single-disc collection. This new 2-disc anthology might have been my compilation of choice had I not owned anything yet.
