Wow, just an amazing unearthing. Of the above recordings, only "Why You Wanna Make Me Blue" has previously surfaced. It appeared a few years ago on a bonus vinyl acetate which accompanied a limited edition biography of the group. (That book is now out of print and unavailable.) The track is a slightly retitled version of The Temptations' "Girl (Why You Wanna Make Me Blue?)", superbly rearranged by The Action as were all their covers:

Since there's a previously unreleased Boys track included on the EP, let me also throw this into the thread for Action completists. The two sides of the sole commercially-released 45 by pre-Action group The Boys, "It Ain't Fair" and "I Want You", were released on CD several years ago in the fifth volume of Castle/Sanctuary's out of print compilation series Beat Beat Beat. Here's what the A-side of that single sounded like (it's an original composition by frontman Reggie King):

Received the new In My Lonely Room EP today. It's in a standard jewel case with this as the back insert:



It includes a nice enough booklet, and since this is The Action's 1965 Decca audition recordings, the CD's label mimics the Decca design of that era. Very pleased.
