Description
2016 two CD collection from the king of rockabilly/rock 'n' roll. The tracks on this set are drawn from five albums that Robert Gordon recorded for RCA Records. On Disc One, tracks 1-12 are from the 1979 album Rock Billy Boogie featuring Chris Spedding on guitar. Tracks 13-23 are from the 1980 album Bad Boy and again features Spedding whose virtuosity is showcased to great effect. On Disc Two, tracks 1-4 are taken from the 1981 album Are You Gonna Be the One. Tracks 6-16 are from The Lost Album. The final track "So Young So Bad" is from the album Too Fast to Live. Robert Gordon is a celebrated figure amongst rock 'n' roll enthusiasts and generally anyone with ears whether they like rockabilly music or not!

His cover of Marshall Crenshaw's "Someday, Someway" actually cracked the Hot 100 in 1981, but it's not on here? Puzzling omission.

That's too bad. And yet Something's Gonna Happen, another Marshall Crenshaw cover, is on the tracklist.

Heard the Marshall Crenshaw version of Someday Someway today driving around on XM Radio.

"But, But" and "Wasting My Time" are also Crenshaw-penned. Gordon "discovered" Crenshaw prior to the release of MC's self-titled debut album, and recorded quite a few of his songs.
