BANGLES TO RE-RELEASE ORIGINAL EP The Bangles have announced the long-awaited re-issue of their original 1982 self-titled EP, which contained their debut tracks 'The Real World,' 'I'm In Line,' 'Want You,' 'Mary Street,' and 'How Is The Air Up There.' The re-issue will also contain never-befroe heard tracks from the Banglevault hand-picked by the band.

It's a shame how long this material has been unavailable while Columbia churned out one compilation after another. I got tired of waiting and burned my own CD-R ages ago, but I'd love to see an official release of this done right with nice graphics, informative liner notes and decent mastering.

The 3" CD only included three of the five e.p. songs. As indicated in some of the other posts, there are also other tracks from this era that I would hope they include.

The released songs from that era could fill a "short" album: Getting Out Of Hand Call On Me Bitchen Summer The Real World I'm In Line Want You Mary Street How Is The Air Up There
There are at least six unreleased studio recordings (four later re-recorded for Columbia): Renaissance Man Outside Chance All About You Tell Me Restless Dover Beach
Plus these live covers for which good soundboard recordings exist: Hazy Shade Of Winter Where Were You When I Needed You Live Steppin' Out 7 And 7 Is Pushing Too Hard
If they have more in the vaults, even better, but all of the above would make for quite a collection already.

People are already commenting on facebook that they want a CD release, I'm sure they'll have to do a physical release even if it's only a limited pressing... and even if the band don't want to do it themselves, I'm sure that Real Gone, Omnivore and Bomp will be queued up round the corner to get the rights to it...

As a CD, I'd buy the album in a heartbeat. People are still requesting a physical release at The Bangles' Facebook page, so perhaps they'll get the message.
