Live portion described as "newly mixed by Barry Gibb and John Merchant". Unreleased stuff too.

Description
The Bee Gees are one of the most successful pop groups of all time. Started in 1959 by brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb the trio ranks near the top of the list of best-selling music artists and has earned every honor imaginable, including multiple Grammy® awards and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Bee Gees signed with Warner Bros. Records in 1987 and released three remarkable studio albums E.S.P., One, and High Civilization.

This creative burst from The Brothers Gibb is remembered with a five-disc collection that includes all three studio albums, along with a selection of rare demos and outtakes. Also included is One For All, a 1989 concert recording available in its entirety for the first time. This 22-track live set has been newly mixed by Barry Gibb and John Merchant for a state-of-the-art sound that is the closest you can get to being there live.

I'm in. Hope they might do something like this with the many earlier OOP albums. I made the mistake of waiting for remasters than never came when those albums were widely available.

The description only mentions the live set as being newly mixed. I'm in, either way.

Nice catch Mr. Editor! I skimmed right over that. Changed my original post.

There's nothing unreleased on this set, everything on here has been issued in one form or another in the past.

Has Warner indicated whether these CDs will be released individually (as the 3 albums and a 2-CD live set) after they release this as a box set?

or on iTunes?

I want to get "You Win Again" (extended version) but not sure I want to buy 5 CDs to get it.

Yes, as long as you're not counting "The Studio Albums 1967-1968".

probably because all the bee gee fans have one of the other box sets and if they overprice it no one will buy it.

Unless I'm missing something, this box is very different from any prior Bee Gees sets in that it focuses on a 4 year Warner period only.

You are spot on, Dan. This is very different from Tales and Mythology and exhaustively compiles an era that was not touched on extensively in either of the other career-spanning sets.

Just read a detailed review on Amazon confirming my real annoyance with so many box sets and deluxe reissues: none of the original booklets, lyrics, liners etc. are included. In fact, there's no booklet at all, just the albums in mini-sleeves with front and back art, so collectors and completists have to hang on to their old copies.

As I post this I am listening to "ESP" from the box. Sounds really fresh! Nice touch to add demo's and out-takes to the albums.

I would have paid extra for a very nice booklet though. That's a minus.

If they had added outtakes, which they didn't as Barry has nixed it. Only single edits and remixes and not even all of those.
