We missed this box set when it came out. It's a Decca release, but was put together by Mark Powell of the British progressive reissue label Esoteric:

Product Description
2010 four CD anthology from the British Progressive Rock band, the most comprehensive overview of their career, focusing on Camel's long association with Decca which yielded the group's best loved and most significant work. Rainbow's End features key album tracks from Camel, Mirage, The Snow Goose, Moonmadness, Rain Dances, Breathless, I Can See Your House From Here and Nude, plus rare studio and live recordings made for Decca Records and the BBC. Housed in a hard-back book package, the lavish booklet contains previously unseen photographs, memorabilia and essay by Mark Powell. One of Decca's later signings during the first 'progressive' age which began in the late '60s, Camel would prove to be one of the label's most commercially successful bands and one of the most enduring. Unlike many of their contemporaries, Camel have survived over three decades in the music business and still command a loyal and devoted following throughout the world, both in concert and on record.

Here's another view of the package, showing the point-of-sale sticker on the shrinkwrap as well as the vintage Decca label design on the discs:

BTW, this collection is of a kind with the other prog box that Mark Powell oversaw for Decca around the same time, for Caravan:

I have both the Camel and Caravan sets. Extremely well done, I play these sets more often than the groups catlgs now for the diversity and excellent sound re-mastering.

Linda, what made you post these today? Playing them yourself?

I was made aware of the Camel box today, and saw that we had never done a thread for it. When I was researching Camel, Mark Powell was mentioned to have done a Caravan box around the same time, and I saw that we'd never finished that thread. So, Vaults ended up with two four-year-old prog boxes at the top of the board today. :)

I will always love and respect Mark Powell. He recorded a video interview with one of my all time fave guitarists Peter Banks of "Yes" and "Flash". It set the record straight on a lot of stuff and of course with the now passing of Peter this interview is a treasure. Thanks Mark!

By the way the Esoteric re-masters of the "Flash" catalogue are excellent!

Are the new Flash's better sounding than the One Way's?

Rick, are the Esoteric's different than the 2010 Japan "Arcangelo" SHM CD's?

I have the Japan SHM's here, but haven't played them on my main system because the "DR's" were awful (DR6)

I have the box set from Arcangelo from 2008. Are these SHM's? If so, didn't even know this. I see no notes about it. The "Flash" box set from Japan includes all their studio albums plus Peter's solo album "Two Sides". Nice set, includes the alternative gatefold for "In the Can".

Now that I have the Esoteric, they are my go to discs though.

Same question I just asked regarding the Caravan box: is there enough unavailable-elsewhere material on this to justify buy all the tracks I already have on the last batch of remasters that had bonus cuts?

Received this box today - looks good, apart from the fact that all 4 CDs were swimming around inside, due to the "build-a-lesser-mousetrap" idea of securing discs. Luckily, they don't appear to be scratched.
