Presented in a clamshell box, each album comes in a mini-jacket that replicates the original album’s artwork. The set opens with his 1967 solo debut The 4 Seasons Present Frankie Valli Solo and it’s follow-up Timeless, which produced the Top 40 hit “To Give (The Reason I Live).” His first solo #1, “My Eyes Adored You,” and the smash hit “Swearin’ To God” are both found on his 1975 album Closeup. His second #1 hit came in 1978 with the theme song to the film Grease, found on the album Frankie Valli...Is The Word. The set closes with the singer’s 1980 album, Heaven Above Me.

Looking those box sets over, they appear to be virtually complete except for the Seasons' early '70s recordings for Motown, all of which are still available in this Hip-O collection from 2008:

Any information on the packaging? Mini-LP style?

Yes, mini-LP style. (We have full product images in the first post now.) It's not clear whether Genuine Imitation Life Gazette is a flat cardboard sleeve or a reproduction of the entire newspaper -- I'm guessing it will be the former.

Looks like the group box left out the Christmas album.

Genuine would be lovely to have in Japanese mini-LP format! Since they did Thick As A Brick, they should be able to do this one.

I don't know if this CD sounds better (or even different) from the Curb issue, but it has a more accurate reproduction of the original cover artwork.

Would be super keen if they'd include at least a no disc mini-LP sleeve of The Beatles Vs. The Four Seasons...

if "jersey boys" is as big as i think it is going to be, be on the lookout for a lot more four seasons in the near future.

Bump: The two box sets have now been joined by a 2-CD Various Artists compilation of Bob Gaudio compositions, coming out on the same day from Rhino. Details can be found in the first two posts.

glad to see these are in stereo, well, the first 2 are, don't know about the 3rd one...

What is really needed is well-remastered comp of their hits in MONO. All the comps I have are a mixed bag - and some of those stereo mixes are pretty bad. The 4 Seasons has an incredible run of hits on Top 40 radio in the 60s - and most of us heard those & bought those in mono.
