Product Description
After his first successful run with the mighty Van Halen in 1984, the legendary David Lee Roth embarked on an amazing solo career which yielded him enough gold and platinum records that King Midas would have be envious. With his songs being featured in major films, television, cartoons and chart topping video games, he truly is an all around muliti-media superstar.

While venturing into his first solo effort with the multi-platinum smash E.P. Crazy From The Heat, Diamond Dave didn’t have to go far to prove to the world that he was already on top of his game, as more smash albums and chart topping rock radio tracks followed from his stellar LPs like Eat ‘Em And Smile, Skyscraper, A Lil’ Ain’t Enough and Your Filthy Little Mouth.

Always surrounding himself with an incredible batch of tunes and super powerful musicians like Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Gregg Bissonette, Nile Rodgers and Steve Hunter, just to name a few, David Lee Roth truly captivates the world stages with his persona, musical acumen and showmanship.

Friday Music has been no stranger to the exciting music of the legendary David Lee Roth. Therefore, it is with much honor to announce for the first time anywhere David Lee Roth’s Greatest Hits/The Deluxe Edition (CD & DVD).

This past year, David Lee Roth went back to his Warner Bros. recordings and personally selected and sequenced the songs and the videos for this special Greatest Hits collection. For the CD, not only did he include the entire Crazy From The Heat e.p. with smashes like California Girls (featuring Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys) and Just A Gigolo, you also get more rock classics like Yankee Rose, Just Like Paradise, Goin’ Crazy! and I’m Easy.

The DVD also brings you the entire DAVE TV Warner Home Video release for the very first time on DVD format, as well as super rare non-commercial released videos of other DLR hits like The Nightlife, Sensible Shoes, and Goin’ Crazy! (Espanol).

As another installment in our exclusive David Lee Roth Original Masters Series, this limited edition rock masterpiece has been mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the original Warner Bros. tapes at Friday Music Studios.

As a special bonus, Diamond Dave is including new artwork, brand new photos, as well as printed lyrics to the great songs that truly enhance this newly mastered compact disc/dvd extravaganza. If you are looking for the perfect hard rock party for your eyes and ears this holiday season, your search is over! DLR staples like Just Like Paradise and Goin’ Crazy! will amazingly jump out of your speakers as you remember them from years ago. Even more fine album tracks like Hot Dog And A Shake, Hey, You Never Know and the stellar blues classic Tobacco Road make this Greatest Hits collection the homerun that it is. Friday Music is very excited to offer this incredible album from the David Lee Roth arsenal of legendary rock recordings. The fans have been asking for more, and we are more than happy to oblige. David Lee Roth’s Greatest Hits/The Deluxe Edition (CD & DVD)… a great new hard rock revisit in the audiophile domain… courtesy of your friends at Friday Music.

Posted tracklisting which is horrid and missing tons of things it should have.

Also, it claims those videos are "unreleased". I have all but one of them from MTV airings. This is also missing plenty of videos that exist.

If you want a DLR comp stick with The Best which Rhino put out in 1997. This looks awful. I haven't listened to any DLR in years anyway and I'll keep it that way!

He only had a few hits, so a hits collection would mostly be filler wouldn't it? I'm not trying to be snarky or whatever, but his solo career seemed underwhelming...

He had 15 Album Rock Hits. 8 made the Top 10 and 3 others just missed.

From 1985-91 he was very successful and those first 3 full-length album were very sophisticated and quite popular (2 Platinum one Gold and the EP went Platinum).

This collection ignores many of those 15 hits which is a joke.

I'm not saying his solo career was amazing, but it was a good deal popular for a while and this represents so little of it it's baffling. "Damn Good" was a damn good song-a real gem and it hit #2 in airplay-where is it???

But it should be on a greatest hits/best of/hey remember me? compilation.

I know a lot people don't like this one but if they remaster this w/bonus I would go for it in a NY minute.

This never showed up at any of my stores, even J&R, and I eventually ordered it from Amazon. Wondering if they only pressed up a limited number--why would sellers be asking anywhere from $20-$88 for used copies already?

Jimbo, I believe "Friday Music" doesn't press too many CDs. My guess but try getting Triumvirate's "Spartacus" disc on that label. Not the easiest thing to do.

I not only like that album, I think it's better than Eat 'Em And Smile.

I used to like the first 2 or 3, but they haven't aged well for me.

I think between the first two you have pieces of one really good album, with some leftover B-Sides.

Lots of bad reviews on this one, maybe someone here can confirm.

Horrible video quality...it appears as if this is merely a VHS to DVD copy. I love this music and these songs, but I have not seen these videos since I was a kid. I always were fond of the memories, but going back over 25 years then viewing this for the first time since that...well, it's bad. Unwatchable. Again, I LOVE the music, but the videos are just BAD.

:ohyes:

The Best contains all the solo Diamond Dave you'll ever need. Aside from Eat 'Em And Smile, Roth's individual solo albums were really mediocre and very much inferior to Hagar-era Van Halen.
