Bannings: If you're not nice
Bump: Added large product image (click for full size) and pre-order links. Looks like mini-LP sleeves, same as the other recent Warner/Rhino boxes.

It's not yet listed in the UK, but right now the Canadian pre-order price is best.

The Canadian release date currently shows as April 1st, but I suspect this will be pushed back to match the American release.

Same release as Black Box from 2004 only without the flimsy DVD.

Do yourselves a favor and buy the remasters from Sanctuary/Universal in the UK if you haven't yet and ignore this rehash cash-in.

Castle did the same thing in the UK awhile back. The packaging was very faithful to the original LPs. It's now OOP and expensive at Amazon.uk (£3,552.39?!?!)

I agree. However, there seem to be as many opinions about which CDs sound good as there are releases!
A few people like the Black Box (I thought it sounded terribly shrill.)
Some people say "get the original Castle CDs from the '80s"
Some people say "only the original vinyl."
Some people say "the SACDs" (from Japan?)

I like all of the remasters including multi-disc "Deluxe Edition" sets except for the last 2 Ozzy-era albums, which seem to sound like crap no matter which version I try. I also sampled some of the HDTracks 24/96 files and they sounded good as well.

If this new box is the same mastering as the Black Box, I would avoid it.

I bought that at Princeton Record Exchange about 8-10 years ago when it was only about $35. I thought the packaging was very good and the sound quality excellent, since they're the UK remasters. Hard to believe anyone would pay that much for it now. How do sellers even come up with that kind of price?

When will we see a Who box with all their albums in mini-sleeves. Come on Pete! :)

Are you sure? These could just be the Warner CDs that have been around since the '80s.

IMO there is only one way to go for Ozzy-era Sabbath remasters. Head over to Amazon UK and look for the 2009 remasters.

Rhino has nothing to with the original CDs. Unless they decide to go really cheap and use the old ones which would beyond insulting.

This is most likely just a rehash of the previous box which involves nothing.

The Rhino CDs are totally inferior to the Sanctuary/Universal in every way sonically, with the booklets and mastering.

Get all of the Deluxe Editions from the UK or if you truly don't care about what you're hearing and looking at then get this set. It's not horrible by any means but it's not very good.
