The deluxe CD is only 2 Discs? The original is 2 Discs. I went to this show. It was quite memorable for the not only the line-up, but Sinead O'Connor getting booed and jeered to tears. It was also a PPV Broadcast pre-16:9 HDTV, so I can't imagine the Bluray looking any better than the DVD. The only thing better might be the audio quality. I think this was released on VHS but never made it to DVD so I'm in for at least the video.

I too was at this show. And you're right- it's been released on VHS, but never on DVD, at least not in the USA.

I'm surprised that as much of the O'Connor appearance made it to the VHS version as it did--I think all the booing was mostly trimmed for length. IIRC, It is my understanding that one of Dylan's songs from the broadcast was cut due to audio problems, and I believe that he taped a song after the broadcast to make up for this and include on the video. (I'd have to look this up.)
I also recall reading somewhere how some of the artists on the album were shocked at how poorly it sold, judging by the royalties they earned. There have been probably dozens of Dylan cover albums released over the years, and this one isn't bad--it was just disconcerting how they actually dragged Dylan himself out at the end.

I also remember that Elvis Costello was supposed to perform on this, but there was some sort of screw up with his work visa, and was not able to appear.

I was also at the show.
Rumor is there will be new extras on the video.......including Sinead O'Connor's rehearsal version of "I Believe In You"......the song she intended on singing.

The main reason that I went to this show was because George Harrison was playing. It's the only time in my life that I've paid for seats behind the stage. It was worth it though.

Oh so the only major tracks they have left out are by George Harrison and Bob Dylan. That's ok then.
Oddly, a video of entire show with both songs--presumably the concert as originally broadcast via pay-per-view--is streaming over at Concert Vault/Wolfgang's Vault. http://www.concertvault.com/bob-dylan-t ... 10827.html I've never seen this particular video, but in googling around about the missing "Song To Woody", I'm seeing where the issue seems to be related to the observation that this was something of a lost period for Bob, in which his public appearances are mostly better forgotten than not.

I was at the show, also. It was amazing!
I also had a friend go to my apartment and record the PPV broadcast on VHS, so I have that nice souvenir.
I was disappointed when the original CD release was abbreviated, and I'm even more disappointed that the reissue is, too. So much great music to include.....

From Rolling Stone:
Quote:
"...We were just able to locate the high definition footage," says a source close to the Bob Dylan camp. "It had been sitting in Japan at NHK. Japan was an early adopter in HD and they had HD cameras at the event. What you're seeing now is their cut of the show, which nobody had ever seen before. Getting the full rights was very complicated because of bankruptcies. A Sony lawyer who was a passionate music fan sorted it all out..."
