The concert interests me. Isn't this the album that originally came out on the Smithsonian label? If so, it's the only one I've heard (& I've heard most of them) that I don't particularly like.

no, it was originally released on rough trade records, then reissued on koch with the 6 bonus tracks.

her first 2 albums were on the smithsonian label, and then there was a 7 or 8 year gap until this one came out.

IMHO lucinda is the best singer/songwriter in america today. there is nobody like her.

She had some early album on Smithsonian, I once grabbed it from half price books. I sold it.

This one looks exciting to me. She hooked me with Car Wheels, and I don't have any of the early albums. Yet.

Got mine today (gotta love those early promos). The liner notes say the original album was on Rough Trade.

January 14 is shaping up to be an expensive day. That's also the release date of the new Springsteen, Rosanne Cash and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

That would be a good description. I don't do rootsy!

I picked mine up on Friday and I love this release. Her singing is quite as world weary as it would become (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and her writing is spot on. The live show is terrific too.
