But what exactly is it? Is the blu ray the full version of the show that was released on Sacred Heart: The Video?

I was at this exact show and I can tell you-a ton is missing including the guitar/keyboard and drum solos. I hope this isn't some sort of boot with audience shot stuff blended in. I'm not sure why this wouldn't get a US release or UK at least. We'll see if it's for real later on.

DIO's "Finding The Sacred Heart – Live In Philly 1986" DVD will be released on May 28 via Eagle Vision.

"Finding The Sacred Heart – Live In Philly 1986" was filmed at The Spectrum in Philadelphia on June 17, 1986 during the second leg of the "Sacred Heart" tour, which featured new guitarist Craig Goldy. The show was issued in an edited form first on VHS and then DVD. Now for the first time the full concert is being released in the original running order, restored from the original 16mm film and with remastered sound. It's an extraordinary live show with a giant animatronic dragon towering over the stage and spectacular lasers and pyrotechnics. Ronnie James Dio is in fine voice as ever and the band deliver a blistering live performance featuring tracks from their first three albums alongside BLACK SABBATH and RAINBOW classics.

Me too. I burned a copy of the Rhino DVD a few years back, but I will definitely buy this on blu-ray and CD.

CD Japan just sent me a notice that the We Rock DVD will be reissued in Japan on the 19th of June. Looks like a DVD only release. Hopeful we will see that in the USA as well, because the Japanese release is listed as being Region 2.

So now we know this will indeed be a 2CD live set of the full show I was at in June 1986! A separate DVD will also be issued and I think a Blu-Ray as well.

Yes, but both were edited from their original releases and squeezed onto one DVD.

Yeah, and A Special From The Spectrum (I still have it on Betamax and transferred it to DVD years ago) was only 50 minuts to begin with.

Hopefully NFL Films also has all that show just as they did this 1986 gig.

This is pretty good. Nice to have the full show all these years later. The extras aren't bad either and the DTS sound is decent.

Agreed. Overall I was happy with the quality. The video footage was certainly a bit rough in a few places, and overall the footage probably isn't good enough to deserve the BluRay transfer, but considering it's age I'd classify it as a plus-release. It's WAY WAY WAY better than the quality of the Maiden England DVD which IMO is a complete train-wreck, especially considering the press release claiming all the restoration they did for that one (yeah right, what a joke!).

Picked up the 2CD set for $8.99.

It is an ear-bleeding assault.

Very, very tinny and shrills galore. Booming, echo-laden drums and the guitars screech like a cat. Bass is non-existent and the keyboards are too loud. The band and Ronnie sound fantastic and I was at this very show in June 1986.

But damn, it hurts to listen to. I think Eagle just transfer the audio from the video for their releases-it actually sounds like a direct transfer from the video soundtrack.

Boo hiss. I will get the DVD though soon.
