Glad to see it's Uni & not Virgin. Virgin tends to brickwall Moore "remasters" (as does Eagle with the live releases).

Virgin is owned by Universal now, Geff.

Universal merged Virgin, Mercury and EMI into a subsidiary label called "Virgin EMI", although there might still be releases labelled with the individual names. But it's really all Universal now.

Universal kept Capitol, but they sold Parlophone to Warner Bros. while keeping The Beatles' recordings.

Gary Moore’s debut solo album Back On The Streets has been re-released as an extended edition.

The original record, including signature track Parisienne Walkways, came out in 1978, and featured Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott and Brian Downey on four tracks.

The new version, on sale now via Amazon, includes four additional tracks. Track Nine was the B-side on the title song’s single release, while Lynott sings on one of three versions of Spanish Guitar.

Moore died suddenly in 2011 when he suffered a heart attack on holiday with his girlfriend in Spain.

Tracklist

1. Back On The Streets
2. Don’t Believe A Word
3. Fanatical Fascists
4. Flight Of The Snow Moose
5. Hurricane
6. Song For Donna
7. What Would You Rather Bee Or A Wasp
8. Parisienne Walkways
9. Track Nine
10. Spanish Guitar (with Phil Lynott)
11. Spanish Guitar
12. Spanish Guitar

One of only a handful of Moore albums I never got, so I will definitely pick this up when the price is right. I've seen it described as his debut (Pete, I know you called it his debut "solo" album), so I guess that means this album wasn't considered a solo project?:

Rich-that was the description saying that not me!

The album you listed Grinding Stone (1973) is his debut right before he joined Thin Lizzy although Grinding Stone was the Gary Moore Band, so I guess technically Back On The Streets was a debut and issued during his 3rd stay with Lizzy.

Don't worry, Pete...I knew exactly what you meant. And I was sure you were aware of "Grinding Stone." You would think the writers of the press release would have been more accurate, since I consider "Grinding Stone" to be his solo debut.

I recently got a copy of GC. Not bad, though different than what followed.

You're right-it really is his debut. I remember it being crusty, distorted Power Blues Rock but I could be way off as it's been years since I heard it.
