FWIW, all of these are still in print, and available at much lower prices.

But not remastered. Rock Candy does a good job with that. I have Tomcattin' and it's an old analog disc. It sounds okay but not as good as it should (or could).

The only upgraded versions of some of these were the old mini-Lp Japanese releases - I have "Marauder" and it sounds decent. I'll be picking up all of these RC issues eventually though.

You're talking about ancient discs-these have never been upgraded before in any way aside from expensive Japanese mini-LPs that Byrons Ghost mentioned.

The old ones don't sound terrible but they aren't that great and the packaging is, let's say-vintage.That's why they are commonly available.

I'll probably get these and make a nice compilation of those 3 studio albums. This is peak period, definitely.

Once Blackfoot signed to Atco the briefly hit the bigtime.

Strikes was one of those cases where the best-known, best-selling album really is the best one. I only ever had it on vinyl so this is really cool that it's finally been remastered as well as the other albums which are also very good.

And Highway Song-Live, ell, not too many better live albums out there by anyone. If anyone got the remaster of Flyin' High last year the know how good that sounds so I hope hat trend continues here.

Only other Blackfoot album I wish was included is Siogo which is right behind Strikes for me. The addition of Ken Hensley from Uriah Heep was surprising and frickin' awesome!

I have the Siogo, Vertical Smiles and Rick Medlocke and Blackfoot Wounded Bird reissues. The last two are OOP.

You are correct. My Siogo from Wounded Bird sounds pretty good, but I'd still like Rock Candy to handle that.

Those last two albums are terrible though. Vertical Smiles goes for a lot of money last I checked. The other album (really Medlocke solo) is getting remastered soon for those that care. I guess I'll post that on here.

Well, I am royally pissed off. I ordered all of these except the live disc. Amazon had this as shipped last Sunday evening. The tracking on Monday August 12 (at 9:21:04 AM) showed my order as having left the Coffeyville Kansas facility. That's where it stopped. Nothing came. So, I sent a complaint to Amazon this afternoon and now I have these three on order but not having a deliver date until September 4.

WTF (as they say).

Personally, when it comes to Rock Candy releases I go straight to the company, fast service and no shipping charges.

Just bought the Blackfoot edition of the UK Original Album Series. It contains Strikes, Tomcattin', Marauder, Siogo, and Vertical Smiles:

Strikes is noticeably louder than the old Atco CD, but unfortunately "Train, Train" starts with a split second of the end of the prelude.

Still, it's a great bargain, especially with the OOP Vertical Smiles.

Got my three Blackfoot discs yesterday. I listened to some of Strikes while at work. It sure sounds good.

I really need to get those remasters. Been waiting for years for these albums to get the treatment.

Keep us updated on what they sound like and the usually-excellent liner notes/photos.

I'd get 'em before they sell out.

Strikes sounds really good, much better than I remember. The last I had that one was on cassette way back when. As soon as I get through with it, I'll give you the definitive review. I'm looking forward to hearing Tomcattin'

I'm curious as to whether I should get the live disc. That was the only one I didn't order. Probably because I never heard it before.

Holy crap-Highway Song is one of the greatest live albums EVER. Only reason it's not in my Top 10 is that's not a double, but what is there packs a serious wallop and the connection with the fans is something you can feel right away.

I'll still never understand how the version of "Train Train" that MTV played to death is not the one on this album but was used to promote the album! The MTV one is far superior and had the short drum solo and slide solo at the end.

My point-get this album!!!
