Picked this up yesterday. I know there are 1-2 Roky fans out there who might be interested in this reissue. For anyone else who didn't pick up Shout Factory's excellent "I Have Always Been Here Before" compilation, this is a good intro to Roky, containing some of his best / most notorious work.
Quote:
Produced over a period of two years by Stu Cook, from Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Evil One is a masterful collection of songs about zombies, demons, vampires and, yes, even the ‘Creature With The Atom Brain’. These tracks, inspired by schlock sci-fi and horror movies and colored by Roky’s distinctive, high-pitched vocal and squealing guitar, are among the maverick performer’s best. Originally released in the UK as Five Symbols (with 10 songs) in 1980, and in the US as The Evil One in 1981 (with 5 songs replaced), this definitive release gathers all 15 songs on one disc. Remastered from the original master tapes, with comprehensive 48 page liner notes by Joe Nick Patoski and rarely seen photos and ephemera from the archives of Orb Productions.
