Product description:
Remaster of original 1977 concept album inspired by Isaac Asimov writings, now coupled with second disc of bonus material including nine previously unreleased tracks.

The art of the concept album, as developed and refined by the Alan Parsons Project over the course of their 10 albums released between 1976 and 1987 (all but one issued on Arista Records), is celebrated with the release of I Robot: Legacy Edition (35th Anniversary).

The first CD of this commemorative package will comprise a newly remastered version of the APP's first classic RIAA-platinum Arista album, which has generated multi-platinum worldwide sales, and included the U.S. Top 40 single, "I Wouldn t Want To Be Like You." The second CD features 14 tracks of bonus tracks from the Sony Music archives, nine of which are previously unreleased.

The production of I Robot: Legacy Edition (35th Anniversary) has been personally overseen by Alan Parsons and Sally Woolfson, the daughter of APP songwriter, manager, lead singer and musician, the late Eric Woolfson (1945-2009). The accompanying 20-page booklet will include a new liner notes essay by Alan Parsons, plus the lyrics as published in the original LP, rare archival photography, and other memorabilia.

One of my favorite albums of all time. Too bad AP didn't remix this for a 5.1. THAT would have been a real treat.

Pretty uninspiring bonus material. Some of this already appeared on the expanded remaster.

Most fans would have snapped this up if Steven Wilson remixed this in 5.1

Yep, add 5.1 and you'd have a sale from me.

My thoughts exactly!

I wonder if the mysterious "punch-in" sound before the bass guitar comes in on the title track will disappear again.

i heard that Will Smith was recruited to do some new overdub vocals!

in all fairness, this release does seem a bit redundant, but as an avid and long-time fan, i'm ok with it and i'm looking forward to it.
i didn't mind the remasters from a few years ago and can hope this will be slightly better.

Got mine yesterday. The assorted ephemera on the bonus disc doesn't make for a coherent listen. One and done, I'm afraid.

Nice booklet, with some interesting reflections from Parsons, but I would've liked captions for the various single sleeves and trade ads pictured throughout--where they were issued/printed, etc. Like the one 45 shown with the mistaken title "I Wouldn't Want To Be Like It."

This is the same remaster from 2007 with a few more bonus tracks. I'm not a fan of the sound of the 2007 remasters; the Classic HDAD still sounds the best to me.

I agree with Jimbo – the booklet would have benefited from more informative captions (and larger photos!). For example, who's that dude standing next to Alan and Clive Davis?

I laughed at that "I Wouldn't Want To Be Like It" picture sleeve!

When did backing vocalist Stuart Calver become Stuart Salver?

Once again, glad I passed. Reissues aren't what they used to be.
