ROMAN HOLLIDAY were an early 1980s pop band who mixed swing jazz into their sound to great effect. In 1983, the band scored a memorable hit single with Don t Try To Stop It , which peaked at No. 14 in the UK and made the US Billboard Top 75. Debut album COOKIN ON THE ROOF reached the UK Top 40 and also graced the US Billboard listings, opening with their hit but also including the band s earlier, minor hit Stand By and subsequent Top 40 hit Motormania. Original members of ROMAN HOLLIDAY are helping out with this long-overdue reissue, contributing rare photos and pictures for the booklet as well as being involved with the sleeve-notes.

Long-lost 80s pop/new wave gem. Previously only available on CD in Japan, which was HTF and pricey. This reissue includes all the tracks from the album, plus the self-titled U.S. EP which preceeded the album.

I have the Japanese version, but (correct me if my recollection is wrong) I don't think it included the EP. As I loved the EP, it looks like I'll be buying this version as well. Great poppy stuff.

I've had my eye on the 2004 Japan reissue/remaster for a number of years, but I never gave in. It did not include the E.P., by the way. I ordered my copy of this 2013 remaster yesterday. I was very happy to see it get a proper reissue for its 30th anniversary this year. As for the track selection, does anyone know if anything important is missing?

Depends on what you mean. The band had a second album, titled Fire Me Up, which also had a Japanese CD release. As far as I can see, this first release includes everything from the debut LP and the EP.
