VIA Burning Shed:
The long awaited deluxe edition of the classic 1975 album, Warrior On The Edge Of Time.

Featuring the band at its most conceptual, ambitious and Progressive, Warrior is rightly regarded as one of the most essential releases in Hawkwind's illustrious catalogue.

This edition marks the first time that the original analogue stereo master tapes have been used for a remastered edition. The set also features a wonderful 5.1 remix from the original 16-track master tapes by Steven Wilson, who has also provided a new stereo remix.

The deluxe version also includes thirteen bonus tracks drawn from studio out-takes and the 1975 Watchfield Festival and a booklet featuring photos, memorabilia and an essay.

The super deluxe edition of the classic 1975 album, Warrior On The Edge Of Time.

I;m with Amazon.com, so it will be a while before I get mine. However I commend Atomhenge for getting this out. With the exception of some of the Flickknife odds & ends, this disc will give Hawkwind a clean run of remastred discs from the first through the mid 90s. Good job...

I received the deluxe on Friday direct from atomhenge. The packaging is similar to the Levitation set: a hidged cardboard box with three discs is cardboard slips and booklet. I am waiting till I get a chance to listen to the surround mix - so that will most likely be Tuesday. Definately looking forward to this.

I have never heard this album before, so I wanted to wait to hear it in surround for the first time. Had a chance yesterday afternoon. This is definitely surround sound worthy and the effect was great. I am nowhere as articulate on all the pros and cons, I just know what I like. The swirly parts swirled, and other aspects, such as acoustic guitars stayed up front. The vocals get buried a bit, part of it is the mix, part of it is the surround (when I would flip to stereo they would be more understandable).

As an album it is typical hawkwind (which is pretty atypical to begin with), bringing both the best and worst of psychedelic music together is something that I find difficult to share with others (since we're not hitting bongs anymore - or at least not too often), but I simply love.

Bannings: Banned??? Moi???
Anybody else every notice a similarity in the intros of Hawkwind's "Assault and Battery" and Roxy Music's "Out Of the Blue"? Same basic progression, it seems to me.
