There was a lot of competition in the mid-'60s for the title of America's Most Popular Teenager, but a convincing case can be made that Patty Duke was IT. In 1962, at the age of 16, she became the youngest actress ever to win an Academy Award for her portrayal of Helen Keller in the film The Miracle Worker, a role she originated on Broadway. Then, in 1963, she was given her own series, The Patty Duke Show, in which she played two different leading roles of "identical cousins" (an ironic circumstance given Patty's bouts of manic depression and her later championing of the cause). Like so many teen stars before and after her, stardom on television quickly translated into a recording contract and appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, Shindig! and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, resulting in four albums for United Artists, the first two of which we are reissuing with bonus tracks. Don't Just Stand There and Patty came out in 1965 and 1966, respectively; besides the first album's Top Ten title track, they included the hits "Say Something Funny" and "Whenever She Holds You" (we've included another hit, "Funny Little Butterflies," as a bonus track). This marks the first legitimate release of these two albums on CD, and they are mastered from the original master tapes; also included are additional photos and liner notes with quotes from Patty Duke herself. Long-lost music from one of the truly iconic figures in '60s pop culture

Sings Songs from Valley of the Dolls also has never been on CD, and both albums are mastered from the original master tapes. The liner notes feature additional photos and quotes from Patty Duke herself…long-lost music from one of the truly iconic figures in '60s pop culture!

I'll be getting both of these--vinyl copies of the two albums on the second collection are especially difficult to find.
I believe that these two discs include pretty much her entire catalog except for the "Billie" soundtrack and the unreleased stuff on the 1996 "Just Patty" comp.
The most important purpose that these albums serve is to show post-baby boomers that top-40 music back in the sixties wasn't exactly the artistic musical utopia that hippies always claim it to be.

Got some info on this release from the "Official Patty Duke" Facebook page. According to the person who runs the account, Duke had no advance knowledge that these were going to be issued, but she is "very excited" and felt that the Amazon listing looked "amazing."
The "Sings Folk Songs" album is made up of songs recorded back in the '60's for an album that was shelved. It's unclear if they have ever been officially released, but they have been bootlegged.

Interesting, since the product description states "....liner notes with quotes from Patty Duke herself", I assumed Patty was involved with these, though there is nothing that specifically indicates they are NEW quotes from Patty.

The fact that Real Gone received access to the original master tapes, including the unreleased Sings Folk Songs material, makes me hopeful that the rest of Patty's recordings will eventually be released on CD too, maybe as part of a box set or as bonus tracks on a best-of. There are a few tracks that she performed in her TV series and on music shows that seemed to be professional studio recordings but never saw legitimate release, such as this one:
