I wonder if one of those versions of "Always Something There To Remind Me" will have that intro (heard in the music video)?
Well, the "American Remix" by Jellybean (despite the description stating that it is by Tony Mansfield) does not have that intro as heard in the music video. Apparently, initial pressings of the album include that special intro version in addition to select 7" singles of the song. If you are looking for that special intro version, let me know. I have it available. It's also available on a handful of compilations, one from which I sourced my copy.
My main complaint with this reissue is that it is lacking the original 1982 Tony Mansfield "Extended Version" of "Always Something There To Remind Me", probably due to time constraints. That version is my favorite mix of the two extended versions since it stays more true to the original version, not that Jellybean's "American Remix" is a huge difference. I just prefer Mansfield's original. Of course, having both versions of "Always Something There To Remind Me" -- one with the drums intro and one without (video version) -- would have been another bonus. I'm thinking that this release should have been a 2-CD set. Regardless, I'm still buying a copy.

I know some of these rarer tracks are also on a CD I have called "Everything and More", but it's OOP and going for about $100 used, I think. I'll be grabbing this one for sure!

Indeed. I didn't discover that Naked Eyes compilation until long after it went out of print. I refuse to pay $100.00 or more for it, so that's another reason why I'm buying this reissue (even though it doesn't have everything on "Everything And More").

This thread has been bugging me because I didn't recall ever seeing this album, and I practically lived at record stores in the 80s. A little quick research and I discovered that the Naked Eyes album I remembered was the American version with a different cover and two less tracks. Two less tracks? Wow. I foolishly thought that kind of crap had ended with Yesterday & Today. Then again, Naked Eyes were on EMI.

It was still rife up to at least 1989 with the re-ordering of Lisa Stansfield's first album on Arista taking in the three versions of Duran Duran's Rio and the first Nick Heywood Album. The US licensee knows best! The British lp Burning Bridges is the real deal flowing better apart from no doubt being better pressed (my copy is silent between tracks).

Not to mention Stansfield's album cover for the US was censored (the cross on her sleeve was blacked out).

Yep, the more I think about it, there are plenty of examples of this from the 80s and beyond. The first Heaven 17 and Stray Cats albums released in America were glorified compilations, and don't get me started on the many versions of Thomas Dolby's Golden Age of Wireless. The American version of Saint Etienne's Foxbase Alpha has everything on the UK version plus a couple of extra tracks, so at least sometimes we get the better end of the deal.

Yikes! As a person who enjoys loud and compressed remasters (yep, I know that I'm in the minority), I think that this one is too loud and leaning on the harsh side. If it's too loud for me, then that's a bad sign. The sound is too bright and suffers from distortion when turned up loud on my headphones. I know of very, very few remasters in my collection which distort when turned up to this level. Not good! I'm disappointed. The packaging and liner notes, on the other hand, are nicely done. Mastering credits go to Dick Beetham and Dave Turner @ 360 Mastering, in case anyone wants to know. It's such a shame that the sound had to be ruined by some overzealous mastering engineers.
