I agree, this was an excellent band with the songs and production. I have purchased GH's over the years but would rather have the full length albums. Alas, we have them. BGO does a good job so I am in for this.

Rick: So glad to see you love Philly's own! What a great, and very talented band. All three of these albums were awesome. So many styles and instrumentation. I saw them live and they were fantastic. Eric Bazilian (who now also writes for many other artists) was my guitar teacher's teacher-he is brilliant! I guess you're sayin' I should get this then as BGO do a nice job? Do they also do liner notes or is it bare bones? I really want to get their April Wine remasters too.

Hey IP, thanks for the recognition of my love for the Philly sound and especially this band.
Wow, small world that your teacher was taught by Eric. That what I loved about this band, they had so many types of instrumentation going on. And they hit it big, deservingly so. You couldn't turn MTV on in the 80's without seeing them.
IP, you got to get this. BGO does good remastering and having all 3 albums on 2 discs is well worth it in price. They do a very good job with their booklets and therefore I expect the same here. I have some of the April Wine issues and pleased with them as well.
Actually just the other night I was playing the "Ozark Mountain Daredevils" BGO two-fers and they sound wonderful.
So BGO is a reputable company in my book, hopefully that will provide an assurance.

Thanks Rick-I think I will go for it-I just dislike two-fers so much. But, I doubt these albums will get the treatment they deserve from Sony/Legacy, so it's likely I'll get this.

Good for you IP. I totally agree, Sony/Legacy most likely will not do anything with them and shame on them and Hooray for BGO.
Will compare notes when we both have a chance to listen to this reissue.

No disrespect to IP or Rick, I never liked the Hooters "sound." Which disappointed me because that sound was all over Patty Smyth's first solo cd, whom I'm a big fan of. I am a fan, however, of Eric Bazilian's songwriting on Amanda Marshall's "Tuesday's Child." I didn't like The Outfield either, who I believe came at around the same time The Hooters were big and IP likes them as well. Just a sound that I didn't care for and he does. I do agree agree with IP in hating 2-fers--UNLESS that's the only way to get a release, which seems to be in play here. The few BGO releases I owned (before unloading them when the single titles became available), ARS, Motels, Ohio Players, were just OK to me, nothing special. Not saying they do a bad job by any means but their remasters, TO ME, sound no different than an older version, so I'd be curious to hear IP's take on BGO once he gets this.

Interesting observations James Dean.
No disrepect taken my friend.
I personally love "The Outfield". So much I hunted down the Japanese cd print versions for my collection. Do the Outfield albums sound a like?, yeah, but for me they were like the Police but much more AM oriented.
As well cool things were happening in my life during the "Play Deep" release which allows an affinity. It's a guilty pleasure I admit but we all have them.
As for the Hooters, again great memories coincide with their music and that helps. But the music stands for itself as well.
I agree, I do not believe we would never get the remastered albums w/o BGO doing them so I am excited about this.
