Having never purchased Whitesnake's Restless Heart from 1997 this is awesome news. I will definitely get this. After that the only Snake I don't own is Good To Be bad which I can pick up someday. Does anyone have Into The Light? I liked the single and I know Earl Slick played guitar on it. Also, with a new live CD and DVD, this has been a fantastic last 5 or 6 years for Snake fans and those EMI remasters of the classic Blues stuff (and the later Metal)were awesome.

I found this snippet on hennemusic.com:

Whitesnake leader David Coverdale checks in with an update: "We are busily mixing and editing a live album and a separate in-concert DVD from the 'Forevermore' world tour, plus mixing an special expanded editions of 'Into The Light' and 'Restless Heart'. Plus archiving so much audio and visual material and content from so many years.

I'm not familiar with either album, but I'd be very inetrested in a new live album and DVD from their current tour. I also would love to see more archive material be released from the early Whitesnake days.

I have Restless Heart. Whitesnake (through the '87 album) is all top-notch stuff and the three Vandenberg are fantastic. Knowing that Vandenberg actually played on this one (and all songs are credited as Coverdale/Vandenberg compositions) I was really looking forward to getting it. But be warned, this albums is really, really mellow and quite honestly it completely bored me to tears when I heard it. Probably only listened to it two or three times so maybe it would have been more of a "grower" if I had given it more of a chance. But those listens were enough for me at the time. It's still in my collection, but I know I haven't listened to it in the last 10 years.

Coverdale once said in an interview that the '90s Whitesnake albums were Whitesnake in name only. He wanted to release them as solo albums, but the record companies wanted the Whitesnake name on there to sell more copies.

There was only one Whitesnake album in the 90's and it was Restless Heart which clearly started as a solo album as they were billed as Whitesnake featuring David Coverdale or something like that.
Into The Light was always a Coverdale solo album. Oddly that Restless Heart album and tour in 1997 featured more former Whitesnake members than the current lineup now.
I look forward to this remaster because of what I've heard about it being very mellow and melodic. I've only heard 3 songs from it and I like them.
All I heard from Into The Light was "Slave" a minor radio hit which was good. Earl Slick played guitar on that album.

The cover of Restless Heart reads : "David Coverdale & Whitesnake"
The "David Coverdale &" is printed in red and is a smaller font and "Whitesnake" is printed in white and much more noticable.

I'm not going to bother to see if this info is on wiki or all over the web, I'll just go ahead and post it. The lineup for the Restless Heart album is credited as:
David Coverdale - Vocals
Adrian Vandenberg - Guitar
Guy "Starka" Pratt - Bass
Denny Carmassi - Drums and Percussion
Brett Tuggle - Keyboards and Backing Vocals
(+ 3 backing singers and a guest harmonica player)

That's all correct. And I know the tour had Coverdale, Vandenberg, Carmassi, Steve Farris (gtr), Tony Franklin (bass) and Derek Hilland (keys-I think that was his name).
It's the only Whitesnake album in the decade. There was also a reunion tour in 1994.
