TERI DeSARIO ‘CAUGHT’ CANDY140
BACK IN the 1980s the female musical domain was mainly restricted to disco or pop… and that’s exactly the place where you would have found Teri DeSario. Signed to the flamboyant Casablanca label, Teri’s recorded output had consisted of two thoroughly unremarkable disco pop albums before the label and her new management had the vision to rethink this approach. Focussing on her phenomenal vocal range she was soon cutting one of the great, if undiscovered, melodic rock albums of the era.
Recruiting some of the best west coast rock musicians, including Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro, Mike Landau, Ritchie Zito, and Mike Baird, the album explodes with pure melodic mayhem. Sharp, yet ballsy, every track is pure dynamite, with ‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘Hittin’ Below The Belt’ and the title track all delivering big time. Look out for Teri’s exceptional vocals in ‘I’ve Got A Secret’ – truly one of the greatest female rock performances.
24-bit remastering from original source tapes, 3,500 word essay about the making of the album, new interview with Teri and additional photos spread out over a 12 page full colour booklet.
