IMO, Out of Order and Spanner are Rod's best two albums in that period and still hold up today so are well worth a listen.
In particular, Spanner is regarded by many Rod fans as the best Rod Stewart album that no one heard - it lacked a major lead single but is actually very strong throughout.
Including a ballads comp in the set is a strange choice but I doubt much thought went into it. New Boys or Body Wishes would have been more logical.
