So, what happened with the "The Madness" remaster? Did it come out with 4 bonus tracks and quickly go out of print or are we still waiting for a 2 CD version?
A little confused as there is a single disc version with 4 bonus tracks going for big money now.

If there was a remaster of it, I don't know of it, or where it would be. To my knowledge that is the only album there are no plans for as it really wasn't Madness, though some members were involved and it sold poorly. I saw one on AmazonUK for 14.99 UK used which isn't so bad-don't know if it had bonus cuts.

What remaster am I missing then - "Mad Not Mad" has number 6 on it's spine and "Wonderful" has number 8? What would number 7 be?

One Step Beyond... Absolutely 7 Presents The Rise And Fall Of Keep Moving Wonderful Mad Not Mad
I'm surprised Mad Not Mad was numbered as it's not even on the same label as the others! I'm confused-but those are the ones that have been done. My guess would be the other numbered one is Total Madness a CD/DVD best-of that came out last year. Just a guess though.

That's what has been puzzling me - not only is "Mad Not Mad" in the same type of packaging, and not only does it get the number 6 on the spine, but it's assigned an S as it's corresponding letter. ("Wonderful" is number 8 and it's "letter" is an !. So we now have M-A-D-N-E-S- -! There is a missing S and a missing 7. Oh, well.

I wouldn't count out the possibility that the missing title will turn out to be The Madness. It makes the most sense. (And hey, I was right about Mad Not Mad, wasn't I?)

But sort of. Salvo did not and does not have the rights to Mad Not Mad and it was Virgin who put it out. Odd that 2 labels are combining to do a remasters series-never saw that before! The Madness was on their own Zarjazz label-who has the rights to that, who knows? But if that's the album that is #7 that would be cool, but it's nothing more than an obscurity and not a very good one. Perhaps one of the later albums from the 2000's or a live album like 1992's Madstock? Either way whatever it is, I'll be getting it.

Got some of these for Christmas and I've been listening to them and loving them (especially 7). Still have to get Mad Not Mad which does not even get mentioned on their website. They're not entirely fond of that and it has nothing to do with the Salvo remasters which they do promote on the website. Still strange it's considered part of the series but I'm glad they Virgin did that one as I've always liked most of it. I think I figured out the missing letter as far as these remasters go. It is most likely Complete Madness, a great comp that went to #1 in 1982. Salvo Music remastered that one and I don't have it or really need it (might get it down the line as it's great and a fan favorite and pretty cheap), but my guess would have to be that that is the one we weren't sure of. As for the album The Madness from 1988, they do not and should not consider that a Madness album so maybe some Indie label will get the rights one day for that one, though it pretty much stinks. But it is not getting remastered as part of this series which is now complete. Hope all that clears things up and if I'm wrong on Complete Madness then I have no idea which one is the missing letter!

The Madness Zarjazz stuff is owned by EMI. The Madness is the other album missing from the remastering campaign. There are errors and omissions on several releases. For example, the Stretch Mix of Our House is not the Stretch Mix, it is the mislabelled edited extended mix as appeared on The Business anthology. Also, Sweetest Girl Extended Mix on Mad Not Mad is just the LP version again! This track was also mislabelled on The Business anthology.
