What is this? Is this an actual remaster and who is this label?
I'm skeptical.
I am still stunned this back catalogue (aside from the wonderful box set) has been so ignored by WB. I assume there are Japanese remasters for the past albums?
Again, if anyone knows what exactly this release is, please let us know.

Rockbeat Records has been active over the past year or so, recently releasing Jackie DeShannon's latest album as well as reissues from Glen Campbell, Buck Owens, Alberta Hunter and others. James Austin, formerly of Rhino, works as Rockbeat's A&R veep.

AFAIK Little Feat (debut album) Sailin' Shoes, Dixie Chicken, and Waiting for Columbus are all available on MOFO Gold discs (I haven't heard them, are they recommended?)....and then there's the box set (again I haven't heard that but I understand that it's got much better sound than the ordinary CDs).....but the problem with that is that some of it is post Lowell George.

I don't know anything about Japanese remasters.

So, yes a proper re-issue programme would be great....is this new CD part of that?

Wish I knew. If it is, why start out of order?
The box set is truly great and spans their whole career. The post-Lowell stuff isn't close to the classic stuff, but it deserves to be on there and Let It Roll was one of their best. But, the genius of Lowell George-what a pleasure to listen to.
The 4th disc is all unreleased material. I actually just got it last month when Amazon offered up the boxes at $26. It's OOP so they only had so many, and I jumped on it, but they're all gone now. The sound quality is easily the best I've heard Little Feat sound.
I'm not into buying the MOFI discs but I'd bet they sound pretty damn nice too.

The Mofis sound fantastic. Wish they'd do more.
