The Cherry Red website lists Todd Rundgren & Utopia's Disco Jets CD as being on sale in late March. It's an Esoteric label release, Esoteric having picked up the late period Rundgren & Utopia albums not being covered by Edsel. Not that readers need the background, but Disco Jets is a "lost" Utopia album, recorded after "Faithful", but receiving only very limited release in Japan. According to "A Wiard A True Star: Todd Rundgren", the band considred the album sort of a joke, spoofing Star Wars, CB radio and disco. Whatever. Todd also has said he thought "Bat Out Of Hell" was a parody and look how that turned out. As strong as the musicianship of Utopia was, it can't be a total disaster. Kudos to Esoteric for managing the release. All Esoteric needs to do now is reissue Up Against It (the Japanese release isn't all that great) and we will have all of Todd's works available again.
