Beginning life as indie band Art Nouveau in the late ‘70s, Kajagoogoo scored a UK chart topper with their memorable debut single, ‘Too Shy,’ in 1983. This collection includes all of the band’s UK hits as well as essential album tracks and rare B-sides. In addition, it features solo recordings by Limahl, including his Top 4 UK smash, ‘The Never Ending Story,’ resulting in a package that no fan of ‘80s pop should be without.

It's my release! Well Linda thinks that so it's got to be true, eh? But what do I think of this compilation as a fan since 1983 knowing the bands output probably as well as they do as I was mental about them.
I'll start with a gripe which is why is it the album Colour All My Days never got a cd release but practically all Kajagoogoo compilations contain a bunch of identical Limahl 45s?
At the last count I've seen two hands worth of compilations usually groaning whenever I see another but this one is better sorted from most by having all the singles and sizable number of b sides only otherwise issued digitally on the 2004 Kajagoogooo studio albums all on the one package which if you're lacking something by the group I feel confident to recommend.
If you never heard the metro mix of Big Apple - which didn't come out as 45 in the States - in the fall of '83 you're missing something and the instrumentals Pump Rooms of Bath and The Garden are something rich experiments in sound textures, having played the 12" UK pressings with these track on for eons. Islands, the title track from the second UK album cos Capitol messed up the US version as ever, was one of the highlights of the album that saw great lyrical maturity.
There is a great R0 NTSC dvd in the 2009 Very Best Of Kajagoogoo cd/dvd pack I'd also recommend

One of my favorite tracks from the '80s is the U.S. remix of "Turn Your Back On Me", which never gets put on any of these compilations, including the 2009 Very Best Of. It would have been cool to have the video of the remix on the DVD.
