BTW, the liner notes report "Tracks 5 and 6 recorded (probably) mid-1960," which, you know, would be a pretty good trick, considering the songs weren't written until '64-'65.

A few years ago I made a mix cd of this album and the George Benson Abbey Road album. I listened to that a lot (although the Booker T album is the better of the two in my mind).

I wrote a review of this reissue and the other 2 reissues from that same week including The Staples Singers "Be Altitude: Respect Yourself" and Johnnie Taylor's "Taylored In Silk." Review: http://www.record-racks.com/?p=333
A few other recent releases in the Stax campaign: Shirley Brown - Woman To Woman The Dramatics - Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get Rufus Thomas - Do The Funky Chicken Reviews to come shortly over at Record Racks
Also, Light In The Attic just issued Packy Axton - Late Late Party from sessions from 1965-1967 featuring the likes of members of The Bar-Kays, The Mar-Keys, Hi Rhythm Section and more. Great release. Review: http://www.record-racks.com/?p=387

Stax Reissues! I can only hope they reissue "The Stax-Volt Revue Live In Europe (Paris? Can't remember!) I LOVED this album in the 60s....Carla Thomas, Eddie Floyd, Booker T & The MGs, The Barkays...Sam & Dave...all live...and then the show-closer Otis! It was on CD for five minutes like in 2000...didn't grab it...it was gone! It MUST be a reissue please!

I have the remaster and it may even better than the MFSL that I have. Either way, this is a MUST! Now let's see a remaster for the soundtrack to "UpTight".
