This is so frikin' sad to see such important records and artists given such a hack treatment. No unissued tracks and no doubt shoddy packaging and ripped from other CDs sound. This is a disgrace for Rhino and Warners to whore this stuff out like this.

I remember seeing this posted on all of the Doobie/Edsel threads and thougth I would comment:

The Edsel two-fers are probably the best I've seen as far as packaging goes. The thick booklets contain full-page reproductions of the original album covers, all song lyrics and new essays. The CDs are most definitely remastered, and that's where the debate begins. This is the cleanest I've ever heard these recordings, but the Edsel way seems to sacrifice the punch/bottom end of the recordings (I have the same feelings with the Hall & Oates Complete Atlantic title). I had the original WB titles and replaced those with the mini-lp replicas that came out a few years back. Stampede is a major upgrade, but Streets has no punch and I much prefer the mini of that album. I'm finding these Edsel titles to be hit or miss. One out of two on this title.
