From the band's official Web site. Release date is slated for June 7/8 according to the reliable Slicing Up Eyeballs. There's a lot of awesome bonus content lined up here.

"BBC In Concert Live At The Manchester Apollo recorded 25/4/89, broadcast 25/5/89" That performance will be worth downloading from personal experience as I have it on Minidisc transferring from my 'Master recording' on VHS in HIFI stereo back in the day.

The "Notorious" & "Big Thing" expanded reissues are postponed until September, and it is quite questionable whether EMI will survive long enough to release them. If the sound quality was going to be as poor as the "Disc One" on the expanded "Seven & The Ragged Tiger", the loss of the "Notorious" & "Big Thing" expanded releases may be no big thing, after all.

Some good news: though EMI pretends otherwise, they did heed consumer complaints concerning the poor, harsh, distorted sound on the "Duran Duran"(self titled) & "Seven & The Ragged Tiger" 2-CD + DVD sets(though they defiantly refuse to correct the problems with those sets or replace them), but luckily, this time, with the new "Notorious" & "Big Thing" 2-CD + DVD sets, the sound is excellent, with no drastic changes of E.Q. or dynamics versus previous releases. The audiophiles will be pleased. Abbey Road Studios has opted to keep the mastering engineer anonymous this time. Maybe it's the same engineer as before, but after some mastering lessons from his bosses. I should note to American fans(since the "Working For The Skin Trade" video was never released in the U.S.A. before) that as poor as the program looks on the DVD, it looks the best yet, certainly better than the original Uk videocassette or the Japanese Laserdisc. The technical shortcomings of this show(filmed in Brazil, likely with local equipment) including grain and and smear/afterimage during rapid movement, are things that are difficult for DVD's MPEG compression system to cope with. Obviously, EMI only has the finished videotape master to work with, though it's uncertain that even if they could get access to a film print or camera negative, that the image quality would be much better. I have even considered the possibility that the program may have(from the outset) been a video to film transfer, as a matter of expediency to deal with Brazil to UK video system differences. As for the 100 minute concert from Italy, included with the "Big Thing" set, fortunately, this is of outstanding video quality, and in keeping with the experimental nature of the "Big Thing" album, the group substantially rearranges older hits(even ones from the previous album) that are performed in this show. I had not seen this concert before, and, to my knowledge, it had not previously been released on videocassette. Also, simultaneous with the "Notorious" & "Big Thing" 2-CD + DVD sets, EMi have also released(through iTunes) two collections of Duran Duran remixes & dub versions that couldn't be fit into the CD/DVD sets. One is called "Duran Remix E.P. & "Duran Duran-The Dub Mix E.P.". These downloads sell for less than $4 each.

If you're not nice
Bump: added finalised release details to the first post. I've also removed the provisional tracklisting info which Mike had pasted into the second post, because they're no longer 100% accurate. (The original article links remain, of course.)

Good to know, Phil as I was somewhat disappointed with S/T and especially Raggedy Tiger a contender for worst sounding reissue of the year! Just ordered a copy.

Having got my copy of Notorious I'd second Phil's comments as it's just a fairly straight transfer with the advantages of modern digital processing - better definition - as good as the original all digital cd was and can be recommended especially for the bonus material.

Finally got around to picking these up. The first couple of batches (at least the limited edition versions with the DVDs) already appear to be slipping out of print.
