Hi all. I am hoping someone can answer this question for me. I saw a copy of this CD, single disc, with different and I think improved graphics, especially on the spine. Instead of the red writing on white bkgnd on the original Atlantic CD, this one had the script of the title graphic on the spine on a color background like the album picture. It had an Atlantic label but said it was manufactured and distributed by Rhino. I know Rhino has handled 1000s of WEA midline discs so no doubt this is one of them. There is also a new package on the single disc Graham Nash "Songs For Beginners" for what that's worth!
I am wondering...is this version of this recording remastered? Nothing on the package indicated remastering and the Rhino website says nothing about a single disc version, but plenty about their special versions.
Rhino remastered this in a double-disc version a few years ago. I don't want to buy the same disc I have albeit in a nicer package...but I would buy the remaster if it could be determined for sure that this is a remastered version.
Any help/clarification much appreciated!
Thanks;
Gary/NYC

I'd spring for the two-disc version if you can find it. The CD remaster is very good, but the DVD-A version is just stunning. I can't recommend it enough!!

i knew that there were re-releasing those 2 albums last spring, but i truly have no idea whether they are the remastered (in nash's case also remixed) versions that came out in the CD/DVD sets or not.

does the version you saw of IICORMN have "kids and dogs" added at the end? if so, i would have to guess it is the remaster, if not i would be very skeptical of it. you should also know that IICORMN had one of those "secret remasters" about 10 years ago. you could tell that one by the "re" on the disc, but not on the packaging. IMWAN member jim wilkin knows more about it than i do.

the nash "songs from beginners" is real easy to tell if you play the disc. the new one has the drums way up in the mix, really changes the whole album a lot. i kept both, there is that much difference.

hope i helped a little.

Hi and thanks to you all. Wow, I didn't remember to notice if the supposedly "new" disc had "Kids and Dogs" on it...I appreciate that would be the clue that would justify buying it on the basis of the remastering thing I am kind of into. I have the Nash Rhino repackage with the DVD or whatever it is...and the remixed/remastered version and I like it a lot. I agree with those who thought the "original" sound was not so great. The way I listen, the LP versions, especially of 60-70s stuff, are deeply grooved into my memory...so the newish remasters or remixes I like to listen to closely...I have a bit better equipment now than in those days...so it's a whole new adventure...my thanks again! G.
