That review sounds...well, pretty standard. Extra depth...yippee! Maybe there's extra warmth, too. And to not know what fake stereo is (and to not recognize it as space-wasting trash) is alarming.

Given the team behind these, I just simply can't get too excited.

A little of both -- and to clarify, those were NOT Robin's words; he was quoting a fellow fan.

I have altered my citation accordingly. My apologies for dropping the ball.

Sadly hilarious.

What is truly sad is there are fools incompetent enough to include such useless dross on a deluxe edition.

Apparently, what I thought was the team behind these (the ones who did the Move reissues, which also featured fake-stereo galore) may not be? Regardless, the inclusion of fake stereo is always a dumb decision.

I got the "international" Charly digibook version of The Small Faces (Immediate). I'm listening to it now (the mono disc)...and the new mastering sounds great. I haven't had time to read, but it looks like a big esay and lots of pictures.

I got an e-mail from Amazon a few days ago that the Sanctuarys are on the way.

The "international" Charly Ogden's has been pushed back to July 3rd.

I listened to disc one of the Ogden's 3 disc set and the first 3 tracks of disc 2......the mono tracks are good the stereo tracks on disc 2 are strange.[must be fake stereo]

They finally arrived from the UK, yay!

Unfortunately, they forgot to put all 4 of them in the box. Packing slip says 4, only 3 in the box...

Why you do this to me, Dimi??

So far, I'm very happy with these.

I finished the 1st album, and currently listening to From The Beginning.
(and already heard the S/T Immediate album with the Charly book version)

No relevations with the unreleased bonus tracks (I'll have higher expectations for the box set), but these are the best I've heard them sound.

Probbly a "who cares" tidbit but........

The booklets for the Small Faces Immediate album....(Sanctuary and Charly) are different. Same pictures and article, but different sequencing and background color.

I can't wait for next month's uncut.

Happy 44th birthday to Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. Make sure you all play it today......(whichever of the 8+ versions of it you have)

I've listened to these a couple of times each.

My opinion

Sound quality............
These albums have never sounded better.....nice and as clean as possible....Ronnie's bass is more noticable (mentioned elsewhere.

Bonus tracks............
Almost all of the previously unreleased stuff is uninteresting and really doesn't add much. The only one I found somewhat fun was Ogden's Nut Gone Flake with different violin parts....the backwards one at the end it trippy too. Any bonus tracks significantly different so far were already released on earlier re-packages (the 1st album alternate stuff, the different Green Circles etc.)

Since I'm a SF fanatic, the positive of the improved sound outweighs the negative of the nothing special new bonus tracks.
I'm glad I got these.

+1 to what Charles said. Thrilled with the sound but underwhelmed by the bonus tracks. Hoping for amazing discoveries on the box set. (And I have 9 versions of Ogden's now, dammit. :))

Hi Linda. Greetings from New Zealand. My first post on Imwan. :) I only have the one, the three disc set that comes in the tin. I purchased the other three deluxe sets but held off on 'Ogdens...'. Do you think the new Ogdens betters the 'tin' version sound wise?

Kind Regards

Bevan

Welcome, Bevan. :) Yes, the new Ogden's is the best sounding version that I've heard. (And I think I've heard them all!)
