I'm going to try to avoid upgrading the firmware on my Oppo as long as possible. It currently supports iso's, & the MPAA successfully demanded that they remove that capability with the next firmware release.

Sounds like a firmware thing to me too. Shouldn't be a region thing as I think Europe and Australia uses the same region code for Blu Ray.

I've had to upgrade the firmware on my Blu Ray player one time since I've had it (probably 3 years?). But when it occured, I had inserted a disc and instead of playing a message was sent to the TV saying the disc would not play without a firmware upgrade. So I don't know if that's the problem you are having ranasakawa, but it's something I'd look into.

I already did that, still no good. Bloody frustrating. Don't buy any Sony BluRay players.

Got it to work at last !
Had to totally re-do the set-up and re-install the software from Sony. Just to play a BluRay disc you need to be a computer engineer these days. Well it sounds great and doesn't have loud clicking sounds any more as the original disc had. Thank you guys for your help and thanks Amazon.uk for the free BluRay disc.

Yep. They're constantly changing the copyguards which requires constant firmware updates. It's really too bad that BR & all the associated BS do seem to be becoming accepted as is. God, I hate the content corporations.

Having recently got my 1st Br player 2 related things I hate:

1. It takes forever to load a disc (due to the copyguards). I don't think it's my players as friends confirmed the same experience.

2. At least on some discs (my player manufacturer says it's BR discs with Java based copyguards) the player doesn't remember last position before stopping. As I often watch movies 20 minutes at a time, this is a big deal to me.

I don't know if this has been asked already but I really don't have the time to go through all the pages right now . Amazon is listing the Wall Experience version as 4 disc's , retail outlets (WalMart , Best Buy) is listing it as 3 cd's . Is the 4 cd version an Amazon exclusive or is one of them wrong ?

My local ClassiC Rock star jock today, mentioned that "the Why Pink Floyd reissue campaign comes to an end with today's release of The Wall..." I sure hope not.
Does anybody know if more Experience and Immersion versions are in the pipeline? Namely Animals and Meddle.

There has been a total lack of any rare/unreleased Floyd from 1966-1971 during this re-issue series, very disappointing. I was hoping for a miracle, now it's just a dream.

Nick Mason has mentioned in some interviews that there may be further issues and/or reissues of early Floyd. let's hope so.

And I'm really with on Animals RR. I still don't understand why that album didn't get a box or at least an expanded version. It's one my favorite Pink Floyd albums. It was the first one that I ever bought and the one that really got me into the band.

Now it's $71.32.

Now it's $62.99, I couldn't take it anymore, I broke down and ordered it.

That's where "The Wall" will be in six months. Then, just maybe I'll reconsider.
But I won't, no Blu-Ray or 5.1 Forget it!

Where is the best price for the Wall Immersion box? Think Amazon will drop in price?

Costco sold the previous two Immersion sets for $90 each when they were released. I'm hoping to find The Wall there this weekend.

Sony's Popmarket site has The Wall Immersion Edition for $99.99. Not sure if that's the best price, but it's certainly better than Amazon's current price.

Me too... it may go a little lower, but this is finally a fair price.

I picked up The Wall immersion set. It sounds terrific! The CDs came in cardboard slip cases, though there are spindles to put them into inside the box. Is that how the others were sold, or is that the new plan to protect the discs from being ruined if they come off the spindles.

BTW, what's the significance of the marbles? It seems sort of random.

Yes, who cares about the music. I'm in it for the scarf.

It doesn't matter. Today's kids think that Pink Floyd is the name of some weird porno actor.

This is your first immersion box, is it not?

Yes, but I'll have another on Friday :) I ordered DSOTM and should have it in two days.
