Just the way they did it on the massive stadium tour where more people saw the original Floyd than any other time.
That would be cool!

Those demos sounded more interesting than I expected. But it is disappointing to hear that "Teacher, Teacher" is just an early version of "The Hero's Return" instead of a unreleased idea. I was hoping a couple of them would pop up on these demo discs.
Still really only interested in the Immersion boxes if I can score all three at a reasonable price down the road ($225 or less). I'm still thinking the pricetags will eventually get down there. Amazon currently has the Dark Side of the Moon Immersion box at $82.64...so it's getting close.

I had a chance last night to Compare 2 tracks from the WYWH cd & Blu. Especially interesting as I consider the 2011 cd to be extremely well mastered.
On the title track, I have some question if the 24/96 version i heard was a remix, & have some difficulty offering an opinion as such.
On Shine on P1, the main differences I heard was there was more detail & instrument separation on the blu. In the LONG intro, there are chimes that i never really paid much attention to before, as they kind of get lost to the keyboard on the cd. On the 96/24 while the chimes were not louder, they were much more a distinctly separate instrument. The tone was also a bit smoother on the blu.
The chimes issue shouldn't really be a surprise, as lack of definition of details is exactly the sort of thing that the too low 44/16 cd standard is going to cause.

Were you listening to the stereo mix,the quad mix or the 5.1 mix?[afaik the only remixed version was the last one]

From FMQB.com:
February 9, 2012 EMI has been rolling out its massive Pink Floyd reissue campaign, under the banner Why Pink Floyd...?, since September. Now, February 28 marks the release of The Wall's expanded "Immersion" and "Experience" editions, which is the last scheduled title in the Why Pink Floyd? series. Hence, discussions are turning to what else can be culled from the band's archives. For instance, drummer Nick Mason says he'd like to see a package covering Pink Floyd's early years rather than expanding one particular album.
"The idea was always to see whether people like these things or not. If they do, of course we could do more," Mason told Billboard.com. "I think it's an exercise that bears repeating... but I think there might be things to be done that would be rather different to what we've done so far. We wouldn't do one album like Piper at the Gates of Dawn on its own. Maybe we'll take Saucer (Full of Secrets) and Piper and maybe one other one and do an early years thing -- partly because there just isn't the material in some cases. That might be a more interesting exercise."
Meanwhile, fans have been asking if 1977's Animals will be reissued, but Mason really doesn't know. "Animals is the one record Roger (Waters) said he'd like to have a go at remixing. That might be an exercise worth doing. Maybe David (Gilmour) disagreed enough that we could release David's remix and Roger's remix and, ideally, my remix as well."
As for The Wall reissues that are coming soon, they include original demos that show how much the material evolved before being included on the final 1979 version of the album. The seven-disc "Immersion" set also includes 2000's Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall Live 1980-81 remastered by engineer James Guthrie, and a DVD featuring a performance clip from that tour, a "Behind the Wall" documentary and an interview with The Wall cover artist Gerald Scarfe.
"What's great is we have a greater depth of material for (The Wall) than we had for the other albums," Mason explained. "We have Roger's demos followed by the band demos followed by the final thing, and that makes a big difference. You can really hear how it came together."

I'm down for an early box (needs to include all those non-album singles, b-sides, comp/soundtrack songs, etc.) and an Animals Immersion Box. Perhaps something that gathers the BBC performances as well.

$71.32 was cheap enough to make me bite. Keeping my fingers crossed that the discs will not be destroyed when I receive it. Also keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to eventually get the other two immersion boxes at a similar price ($75 or less).

I absolutely plan to pick up the boxed set for "The Wall", but after seeing the huge pricing discrepancies for the first two sets (anywhere from $89 or so at Costco up to $149 at FYE), I'm willing to wait for the best price.

The Good Just got through listening to the Discovery Box Set for the second time. I am very, very pleased with the overall remastering job. Nice "non-loud" remasters that have just about the perfect balance of being just quiet enough while still retaining a good amount of punch (are not so quiet that they sound flat). No obvious glitches that I noticed. I have the Oh By The Way set which was a real mix/match job in terms of remastering and from the few I A/B'ed I like the Discovery remasters more. Yes, the packaging of the discs is disappointing but all the discs in my set arrived in mint shape and I added extra mini-lp D-sleeves to store them in so no complaints there. Overall I'd recommend this set at the $150 price point which I got it at. And I wouldn't be surprised to see this one get down into the $120 area, and at that price it would be a steal IMO and well worth picking up.
The Bad Received The Dark Side of the Moon Immersion Box over the weekend. Disc #4 was off it's spindle and had a notable scuff on it. Two of the three discs that were secured had a good amount of what looked like some kind of manufacturing dust on the playing surface. I was worried about scratching them when cleaning them off but most of the dust just blew right off and a light wiping of the surface removed the rest of the dust without doing any damage whatsoever to the disc surface. That was a new one on me as I hadn't heard any complaints about discs being full of dust. Also, the book that was packed on top of the spindles, the 72-74 photo book, has some wear on the back cover from sliding around over the spindles. It's obvious what happened to it just by looking at it. What is really kind of puzzling is that the other big book, the one with the album's lyrics, also has wear on the top half of the back cover and I for the life of me cannot figure out how that happened (don't remember exactly where it was sitting in relation to the other material before I unpacked it)? Not sure if this book was sitting on the bottom of a stack and the back cover was worn when it was packed in the box? Neither of the wear to these booklets is anything that I will get too excited about but I thought I'd point it out to other consumers out there. I would imagine most of the books that were placed on top of the spindles will have the same back cover wear that mine has. However, the scuffed disc #4 issue did get me a little wound up. I've already contacted EMI about it and requested a replacement (included scan of receipt) as it sounds like they have been shipping replacements out now. We'll see how that goes, although they came through for me with the misprint of The Wall inner-sleeve in the Oh By The Way box a few years back.

I've said this before, I would only buy an Immersion box from a B&M & I would open it in the store.

I received a package from Amazon.uk the other day. It was a huge envelope with a BluRay disc of Wish You Were Here. A letter included said it was a replacement BluRay for the faulty one I received back in November 2011. Would you believe this replacement disc simply does not play at all this time. Seems I'm never going to get one that works. I'm beginning to wonder if BluRay is going to continue, I have had several other discs that have had problems playing, not just music ones.

Could it be a region or copyguard issue? With the bloody copyguards on Blu, they release new c.g.'s every 2-4 weeks that often require firmware updates to play the discs at all.

Sounds like a firmware thing to me too. Shouldn't be a region thing as I think Europe and Australia uses the same region code for Blu Ray.
I've had to upgrade the firmware on my Blu Ray player one time since I've had it (probably 3 years?). But when it occured, I had inserted a disc and instead of playing a message was sent to the TV saying the disc would not play without a firmware upgrade. So I don't know if that's the problem you are having ranasakawa, but it's something I'd look into.

Could be firmware. My PS3 continuely upgrades itself via my wi-fi connection so its pain free.
