Live In Paris 1975 is the beginning of a series spanning 10 releases from the fathers of heavy rock Deep Purple!
The evening of April 7th did not only find the MK III line up at their best, but this also was the very last show together with Richie Blackmore on guitars. Blackmore left the band in 1975 to start Rainbow.
Recorded in Paris at the Palais des Sports, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Richie Blackmore, Jon Lord and Ian Paice really made the audience's blood boil. With fascinating drum- and guitar solos and enormous improvisations, this concert was a perfect tribute to their reputation in the world of rock. While songs like Burn, Stormbringer and Lady Double Dealer burst with strength, other songs like Mistreated were presented in a superb blues version. Of course, the highlight of the show was their all time smash hit and masterpiece Smoke On The Water .

Digitally re-mastered, Live in Paris 1975 convinces with a stunning audio quality transmitting all the power and brilliance of Deep Purple.

Enjoy the enticing night of all the best from Deep Purple live.

Re-live all the moments, chanting and screaming from the crowd, the band's musical genius live on stage and witness the living legend playing many of the most loved tunes to an ecstatic Paris audience.

I've never heard this one-can anyone confirm the quality of the show regarding both audio and performance?

I believe some of this was used for one of the regular live albums (maybe Live In Europe?), but I've lost track of all these live releases over the years!

I second IP's comments; can anyone remind me where else this has been released & under what title so I can figure out if I need it?

Wasn't this released as Archive Alive?

Yeah-I don't think that was this.

Eagle records released it once under the same title

and it's also come out under a title something like Ritchie's Final Concerts

WARNING: This set has set a new record for the most compressed cd I've ever seen. It scored a Dynamic Range rating of 4. The worst I had previously seen was 6. The mastering is god awful. It sounds awful too. Keep your older version. This is unbelievably bad.

The 2003 on Purple records (I forgot I had that one when I mentioned Archive Alive above) isn't much better at 6 d1 (the previous worst I had ever seen was a 6) & 7 on d.2 (still awfully compressed), but I didn't know a score of 4 was even possible until today!

The 6 Paris tracks on the 1996 Archive Alive score 9 (the 5 on disc 1) & 8 (the 1 on disc 2).

So all 3 editions are horribly compressed, the newer the worst (how freakin' special!).
