I guess it's all a matter of taste, as I absolutely LOVE The Miracle. It's an excellent (and diverse) collection of songs with some of the best playing and singing of their career. Yet I understand why a lot of fans hate it.

The hidden masterpiece of later Queen is Innuendo.
The best song on Hot Space is "Las Palabras de Amor."
"Cool Cat" is, at the very least, more interesting than some of the generic rock crap they stuck on there.

Innuendo is a masterpiece, but with sales of 10 million worldwide I wouldn't say it's hidden. I love The Miracle though it has a few turds on it. Hot Space is truly abysmal, but generic rock isn't why IMO.

"Cool Cat" is a pretty good song, IMO, but it's a soul-disco song, not a rock song, so I can understand people's dislike of it. I put it in a mix when I was playing out at a club recently, sandwiched inbetween Curtis Mayfield and the new Roots album with John Legend, and it went down really well.
