Uh, it's about a year or so too early for the 30th anniversary...

Ah, but like all of Santana's recent releases it will probably be delayed ten times!

Awesome news-one of my favorite Santana albums! Still so many more to go. Damn, Friday did Marathon in the Fall of 2009-talk about slow to follow up.
Still, this is great. I'm sure no bonus cuts, but that's OK.

Bump: now Swing Of Delight has also been announced by Friday Music as a 30th Anniversary Edition remaster to be released the same day as Shango. Pre-order link added to the first post.

Swing Of Delight? Why? What about all the Santana albums still missing? Why this solo album? Friday Music, you confuse me.

What's the mastering like on the Santana discs released by Friday Music?

YES!
Add "Zebop!" to this list as well on the same day. Also, track listing are up at Amazon.com. This is great-thank you Friday Music for doing these great albums.
These are digipaks-not sure why as Marathon wasn't, but that's fine. Should look great too.

Zebop!
1981 was a watershed year for Santana. With the release of their multi-format hit album Zebop!, Carlos Santana & The Santana Band catapulted onto the top ten, the first time in several years, & truly changed the course of their musical history for the next several decades. Thanks in part to the Russ Ballard (Argent) penned smash hit single Winning, the band not only maintained their solid following, but also brought in a whole new fan base. This 30th Anniversary Ed. comes with wonderful new remastering from the original Columbia tapes, original LP artwork all housed in a beautiful digi-pak.

Figures, I just bought Zebop! It's supposedly remastered, but nothing on this CD (it's an import) indicates a new remastering.

And I bought The Swing Of Delight a while back as well.

Yeah, that earlier Zebop! was not remastered.

According to Amazon, the version I bought was an import and remastered. Well, they were right about the "import" part.

Was it this one, Chris?

I'm pretty sure that all of the Sony budget reissues from that period (early '00s) were flat transfers. Notice that the Amazon UK listing makes no mention of remastering:

I want these, but why are they so damn high-priced? Must be Friday Music and the price they need to charge to cover the licensing fees?
Anyway, I'll wait to see if they drop but I'll be getting them for sure soon.

They're cheaper at CDUniverse ($11.98 I think), but when you add the shipping costs there's not much difference.
I ordered them from Amazon hoping for a price drop.
