I have the first one on cd, so it's not the first time on cd like the post says. It sounds pretty bad so an upgrade could be nice.

True. I also have a copy - on Fame/EMI UK came out around 1990 that is quite good plus a West German Select on ZYX. Catch As Catch Can is very hard to find on CD so that could be interesting. Bitter Is Better came out on the Japan Pastmasters version of The Very Best (1990) as a bonus track.

I have the first on a domestic CD released by EMI/Capitol in the early days of CDs. It has no liner notes whatsoever! I also have SELECT on Electrola, made in the UK, with a bare bones booklet. I believe CATCH... was released on a Japanese CD, also in the early days of CDs. It will be nice to have these upgraded, both sonically and visually.

I must have the same one, mine has no liner notes either. I noticed on the new cd they changed the running order, that seems to happen a lot with some reissues. I haven't heard the other 2, I'll probably pick them up, I like the first one enough.

I'm pretty sure that the track listing is the same as the original British RAK release. I agree that it will take some getting used to hearing it in a different order! The other two were very good, especially the very underrated CATCH AS CATCH CAN.

I've never before had "Catch as Catch Can"(though I have some songs via compilation CD's). I had the other two on EMI/UK's budget "Fame" label. I've ordered all three. Ms. Wilde later went on to start a garden design business, though once in while she records.
Here's a great Kim Wilde story. In the 1980's, she had a support slot on a Michael Jackson tour in the UK, and at one show, she showed up and security people wouldn't let her in backstage because her identification had her real name, Kim Smith, so she had to go to a local record store and buy one of her own L.P.'s and bring it back to the concert venue and show this to the security people to prove to them that she was really "Wilde". The name Wilde originated when early British manager Larry Parnes gave Kim's father(an early British rocker really named Reginald Smith) the name "Marty Wilde". Parnes also gave other performers in his management stable names like Billy Fury, Adam Faith, Dickie Pride,Johnny Gentle & Georgie Fame.

To further confuse the name issue, Kim's dad, Marty Wilde, released the single "Abergavenny" in 1969 under the name Shannon--not the same Shannon of "Let the Music Play" fame in 1984.
"Abergavenny" just missed the Top 40, but I had the 45 and fondly recall the song--very "British music hall."

I bought Catch As Catch can recently and love the sound quality on it - matches my RAK lp - and the packaging. Recommended.
