Epic/Legacy "confirmed" the next Cheap Trick remasters on the message board (now no longer available) in 2008, yet, so far...squat.
Ah, but we do get those brilliantly conceived "rarities" editions that nobody will buy. I fear the Cheap Trick remasters may be dead-anyone hear anything?

I haven't heard anything about any more CT remasters. I thought we were lucky that Legacy did Dream Police and All Shook Up.

Sorry for the confusion-I was referencing those stupid rarities editions of deluxe albums being released and I don't even think it's Legacy doing that, it might be Universal or someone, so totally disregard that!
But, Legacy did confirm that everything from One On One through Busted would get the treatment and I feel that's a lost cause at this point. I don't even know what Legacy is doing anymore besides rehash.

I remember them doing the first three albums back in 1998, then...nothing for a while. Then, at some point, they did Budokan. Then a few years after that in 2006, Dream Police and All Shook Up. If they do the others, great, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them. Pity. :sigh:

They released the remaster of Next Position Please via iTunes only. I know there's a joke in there...

That would most likely not be the remastered version with bonus tracks that ajc68 is referring to. Probably just a straight re-release included in that package. In fact, I'd say definitely not the remastered version.
Next Position Please (one of my favorite CT albums) was remastered in 2006 along with Dream Police and All Shook Up, but was available only as a download and I refused to bother. Apparantley they didn't have all the bonus tracks they should have either. It's also odd they skipped over One On One, but Epic/Legacy were supposed to finish the catalogue starting last year and it has not happened sadly.

The cd of NPP in the "Original Album Classics" is not a remastered version , the rest of them are . I thought we were supposed to get the remaider of the BOC and Jeff Beck catalog too . What happened to them ? We'll never see them.

Legacy does great work when they do a reissue. It's just too bad they don't see these catalogs through to completion. I mean, they don't have to dump everything out at once, but you think that eventually, everything would get done and put out there.

It's really exciting when you get those first few albums with great sound, bonus tracks and new liners, but then...nothing. Or you wait several years for something else to come out, like with the Cheap Tricks.

Without checking (so I could be wrong) I think that was an incomplete version of the album leaving off a few tracks.

Btw, I picked up the linked below, now OOP, two-fer when it came out a couple of years ago on some label I've never heard of (Acadia). It's actually on two CDs, and has a 16 track edition for NPP and claims to be remastered, but it's not. I also read they missed a crossfade of two songs on the 1on1 album ("Love's Got A Hold On Me" and "I Want Be Man."). It's got a decent booklet, but don't bother tracking it down, you'll just be disappointed by this flat sounding set.
