Shooting Star / Live And Learn (2010 issue UK 21-track 2-on-1 CD album - Continuing Spectrum range of 2 on 1 albums, this set comprises Elkie's 3rd & 4th solo albums. 1978's 'Shooting Star', saw a radical change in direction, aimed at breaking her into the American market, and features her hit cover version of Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart' and follow up 'Since You Went Away'. 1979's 'Live and Learn' saw Elkie reunited with her old producers Leiber and Stoller to create an album that would capitalise on her ever growing popularity. Released on the back of the hit singles 'Don't Cry Out Loud' & 'The Runaway', 'Live and Learn' featured Elkie in fine voice returning to familiar rock and pop territory and featuring some stunning new material written by her producers including 'Falling Star', 'The Heartache Is On' and 'He Could Have Been An Army' which has since become a staple of Elkie's live shows. Complete with the Bonus Recording 'Got To Be A Winner' [b-side to stand alone single, 'Don't Cry Out Loud']).

Originally released in 1975, 'Rich Man's Woman' featured a mix of self composed numbers and covers. 'Two Days Away' [1977] was widely regarded by both fans and critics alike as Elkie's finest work, spawning the classic singles 'Pearl's A Singer' & 'Sunshine After The Rain'.
