Found this yesterday at Anti-Music.com and here are my questions...
This seems more like it-an actual comp of various cuts in different cities, not that stupid box set.
What I'm not clear on is, is this out already? Will it be at retail? Or just online? I haven't checked the band's site, but it must be there. Or just at Concert Live? It seems to be more of an actual live album since it has been mixed and mastered.
This looks really nice musically (I think it's all the songs played at different times) and I want it.

The KISS Alive 35 Tour 2009 kicked off on September 25th. Each of the 42 shows were exclusively recorded by Concert Online who are now offering up the two-CD Best Of Alive 35: North American Tour 2009.
KISS comment: "Now that the tour is over we've remixed and mastered only the very best live performances of all KISS Alive 35 klassic hits.

The result: The two-CD Best Of KISS Alive 35 set - filled to the brim with 27 smashing live audio tracks recorded in 21 locations!

Ranging from genuine KISS Alive! klassics such as 'Deuce', 'Strutter', and 'Rock n Roll All Nite' covering the all-time rock hymns 'Detroit Rock City' or 'Shout It Out Loud' up to their latest single 'Modern Day Delilah' and anthems such as 'Lick It Up' this KISS Alive 35 two-CD Set has it all."

Best Of KISS Alive 35 tracklisting is as follows:

'Deuce' - Live in Greenville (10-17-09)
'Strutter' - Live in Philadelphia (10-12-09)
'Got To Chose' - Live in Hampton (10-16-09)
'Hotter Than Hell' - Live in Little Rock (10-29-09)
'Fire House' - Live in Winnipeg (11-09-09)
'Nothin' To Lose' - Live in Cleveland (09-28-09)
'C'mon And Love Me' - Live in Oshawa (10-07-09)
'Parasite' - Live in Boston (10-05-09)
'She' incl. Guitar Solo- Live in Cleveland (09-28-09)
'Watchin' You' - Live in Uncasville (10-03-09)
'100,000 Years' incl. Drum Solo - Live in Minneapolis (11-07-09)
'Black Diamond' - Live in Oakland (11-22-09)
'Cold Gin' - Live in Detroit (09-25-09)
'Rock And Roll All Nite' - Live in Greenville (10-17-09)
'Let Me Go Rock 'N' Roll' - Live in Anaheim (11-24-09)
'Detroit Rock City' - Live in Detroit (09-25-09)
'King Of The Night Time World' - Live in Uncasville (10-03-09)
'Love Gun' - Live in Atlanta (10-26-09)
'Calling Dr. Love' - Live in Birmingham (10-24-09)
'Shock Me' - Live in Fresno (11-21-09)
'I Stole Your Love' - Live in Montreal (10-01-09)
'Shout It Out Loud' - Live in Portland (11-17-09)
'Modern Day Delilah' - Live in Los Angeles (11-25-09)
'I Love It Loud' - Live in Hampton (10-16-09)
'Lick It Up' - Live in Pensacola (10-19-09)
'Do You Love Me' - Live in Seattle (11-15-09)
'Say Yeah' - Live in Atlanta (10-26-09)

This is more like it. This I might get. And it looks like they're playing the entire Alive album this time -- on my CD from last year, they left out a couple of songs.

And not to nitpick -- but shouldn't this be in the "new releases" category?

Available here for $24.95:

And apparently, it's not the entire Alive! "Rock Bottom" is missing.

I'd like to know that it covers all the songs that were performed over the tour, but I may be in for this one. There were several songs not played in Pittsburgh that I'd like to have heard (Parasite, She, C'mon And Love Me, Nothin' To Lose).

Wasn't the tour originally presented as being "Alive!" in its entirety plus some other stuff? I think it was in Europe, anyway. Not that the idea held up for long.

This is the kind of thing I'd like to see them (well, a lot of bands) do - a live release from every tour that covers all the songs that were performed. Yeah, it's another live comp, but this is the kind of stuff I used to dream about. Of course, it would be cooler if they changed their set lists a bit more, but...

BTW, anyone notice that the songs they cited on earlier tours as examples of songs they couldn't do with (or because of) Ace and Peter are no longer in the set list, but in at least one case (Love Her All I Can), Ace is still peforming said material?

Just went through the set lists on the web site, and unless I overlooked something, this live set does cover every song played on the tour.

Funny to watch how the set list evolved over time, with the encore starting at six songs and later whittling down to four (three on some nights).

I've always placed live releases under the vaults-I thought that was the way it's always been done!

Alan:
There's plenty of those songs still in the set list-"Parasite", "She", "C'mon And Love Me", "Got To Choose"-they didn't play any of those in the reunion years unless "She" got a few plays.
They have dropped a few from when I saw them in 2004 on the last US tour which was a killer show-songs like "War Machine", "Unholy", "Love Her All I Can", "Christine Sixteen", "Tears Are Falling", but they've been focusing on the Alive! set list.
Also, to whomever asked, this was always Alive! plus other songs on the tour and not just Alive! in its entirety.
Ace can play "Love Her All I Can" because Peter isn't his drummer!

Alan...if KISS released a live release after each recent tour...it would be the same release each and every time... :( their set list never changes.

I received an email from Concert Online with a link to a slightly different URL:

http://concert-online.com/en/artist/6927/live-recordings/2857/4261/.html?X-LT&x-nl=nl091228

Concert Online was the vendor that handled the "Instant Live" cd's for the shows on the Alive 35 tour. I bought a copy of the show I attended. I received the first disc after the show, and a registration code to be entered at their website to obtain the 2nd disc. I received my 2nd disc eight days after the show, and within a week of registration.

I was thinking about picking this up, as there are several songs that were not performed when I saw them.

To answer your questions, IP: I think this is just available through Concert Online. There is a link on the band's website (scroll down a bit), but it leads back to the Concert Online website.

I would have no problem ordering this as this is something I would love to have. Cryton...would we get both discs at one time or have to wait? My guess is that both discs would come since this is a compilation.

This will come as a 2CD set right away. My issue is the price-$25 for a 2CD set and I haven't checked out S&H prices yet. I'd pay $15 but as much as I want this I think I'm going to see if any pop up on ebay or iOffer or even Amazon.com. Is there any chance of that with such a release or should I just pony up now?
If not, I'll bite the bullet-the sound bite (or byte?) I heard of "Stutter" on KISS's website was pretty damn good. Sounds much better than the soundboard CDs they've been selling-you can tell it was actually mixed and mastered.
And it does look like this really came out the day I heard about it which was Dec. 28.

Really? KISS have the 4 Alive CDs and the MTV Unplugged. That's it other than than the half-live comp You Wanted the Best in 1996.
I'd hardly say this 6th actual live album in 35 years is close to the 25 Doors comps since they broke up in 1973.

Not really. If this were an archival live release, yes, but being as this from the recent tour, no.

But cest' la vie!! :yay:

It means squat to me, so if Linda wants in new releases, than it shall be so.

I think they played "She" and "C'mon And Love Me" when I saw them on the reunion tour, but I can't swear to it. I have a tape of the show somewhere, I think. There were something like nine songs on this tour that weren't performed when I saw them, so this release does have some interest for me.

I'd have liked to have seen them pull some different songs out of the past, but I'm resigned to the idea that it's not going to happen.

Alan
