Product Description
2010 issue UK 2-CD album set - Among the most enduring rock bands of all time, Wishbone Ash are creators of exciting and innovative music. As progenitors of the twin-guitar sound later adopted as standard by countless followers, Wishbone Ash's creative restlessness is a thing of legend. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, 'Sometime World: An MCA Travelogue' is a 26 track collection that focuses on the years Wishbone Ash spent living beneath the roof of MCA Records. From 1970's self-titled debut to 'Number The Brave' in 1981, these recordings are the building blocks upon which the group's golden era soundly rests and are considered cornerstones to the wider rock genre in general. The breakthrough album, 'Argus' released in 1972 remains a shining beacon in their extensive catalogue and the likes of 'Blowin' Free', 'The Warrior', 'Sometime World' and 'Throw Down The Sword' are naturally present and represent the band's unique ability to capture the 'lightning in the bottle' that power the original members on-stage to this day. Compiled and produced with assistance and/or approval from all the key band members, 'Sometime World' purports to leave no port left unchecked as it chronologically glides through the gems of the Ash canon with tracks representing all those classic MCA studio releases.

In case any WA fans didn't see my post on this, the important news is that pretty much the entire catalog are coming out as SHM's later this month including Live Dates 2.

First off, I'll get this, no question as it will be a great collection, fully authorized nemwly remastered (good I hope) and it has good cover art.
But, SHMs? I thought this was Universal releasing remasters in the UK, not just expensive Japanese SHMs? Doesn't this comp kick-start the whole remastering series?
If this is just SHMs, no way I can afford that, so that sucks. And one can never be sure if those are even remastered or not. So, if thse are Japanese only-BOO HISS.
I'm sure geff will inform me what's what here.
I'll get the comp no matter what though!

The comp is completely separate from the SHM's. From what I've heard Live Dates 2 (somewhat of a holy grail for Ash fans as it's never been on cd anywhere) will be SHM only. Universal Japan is doing the entire MCA Ash Catalog in SHM coming out (I think) around 5/19/10.

But what about the UK?

But what about the UK?

As far as my senior memory can tell, I haven't heard anything about a UK reissue series.

The official sites seem to be only mentioning this comp & the SHM's:
