Belouis Some's two 80s albums have been OOP for ages and impossible to find. This reissue is good news, although Cherry Red has a history of using vinyl sources for their bonus tracks.

"Some People" and "Imagination" were both big new wave hits, and managed to reach the lower half of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.

This one has been on my wishlist forever! Hope they don't botch it. Saw Belouis Some open for Frankie Goes To Hollywood at the Beacon in NYC just when this LP came out.

Always liked the first album. Man, if any of you have ever seen the UK version of the "Imagination" video-it borders on porn! I got in a trade years ago thinking it would be a typical case of MTV banning a video for absolutely no reason, but not this one-kudos to Belouis!
And yes, Cherry Red are very questionable with their releases-I've heard the recent Visage ones were awful, but I can't confirm that. has anyone ever heard their Classix Noveaux reissues? THose I'd love to hear, but not if they're vinyl transfers.

Same here, DanO. Have the CD of his second LP, but it's no match for this one. Can't wait.

This one arrived from the UK on Monday. It is quite bass-heavy. Had to adjust the bass level on my car stereo from +1 to -4 to be able to listen to it comfortably. Had to boost the high end a bit, too. Maybe I'm just used to my '80s music being slightly tinny. With the possible exception of the dance mix of Imagination, I suspect the bonus tracks came from vinyl, but the sound is OK.
