Product Description
The story of Uriah Heep is one that is now within its 40th year and as such, is testament to the band's talent and tenacity as both recording and touring artists.

Through record breaking tours, gold and platinum selling albums, timeless chart scaling anthems and a fiercely dedicated fan base of worldwide proportions, Uriah Heep can rightly claim to be one of the greatest U.K. progressive heavy rock bands of both the 20th and 21st centuries.

Lead by original member and lead guitarist Mick Box since 1982, Uriah Heep returned in 2008 from a recording hiatus that had lasted ten years with a brand new studio album (Wake The Sleeper) that floored the critics and fans in equal measure.

Equator, the band's sixteenth studio album was produced by Tony Platt (AC/DC, Foreigner) and was the last to feature lead singer, Pete Goalby bringing to an end this powerful association. Equator was also the last time for the band to enjoy a UK chart placing.

This expanded edition adds 4 bonus tracks with the non-album single b-side 'Backstage Girl' as well as a live version of the Heep classic 'Gypsy'. All are previously unreleased on CD and enhance this rather over-looked Uriah Heep offering.

1. Rockarama
2. Bad Blood
3. Lost One Love
4. Angel
5. Holding On
6. Party Time
7. Poor Little Rich Girl
8. Skool's Burnin'
9. Heartache City
10. Night Of The Wolf

— Bonus Tracks —
11. Rockarama [7" Single Edit]
12. Back Stage Girl [7" Single B-Side]
13. Gypsy [Live]
14. Poor Little Rich Girl [7" Single Version]

I have the Sony/Legacy 1999 release and I can't imagine this sounding any better, but there's the bonus cuts. Lemon scares me-I've heard bad things. What should I expect if I order this? From the notes it sounds like they've done their homework, but what about the sonic quality?

The only Lemon I have is a remaster of Dan Reed Network's first.

If memory serves, the sound was improved, BUT (& this is a huge but to me) the 1st 2 tracks are supposed to run together & they split them up with 2 seconds of silence between.

Lemon can be ok - it just depends.

They did a decent job on Graham Bonnet's LINE UP reissue and a great job on THE RODS - Wild Dogs. I also have a very nice pair of WITCHFYNDE discs from them.

However, sometimes their stuff is practically a bad vinyl rip (I seem to remember a gruesome TRAPEZE reissue).

As for this album, its the dog of the HEEP catalog. Some good songs but an atrocious production job that has dated very, very badly. Belongs in a folder with "Conquest" for completeists only.

Oh, the album isn't very good, but it has a few great tracks such as "Poor Little Rich Girl", "Night Of The Wolf", "Heartache City", "Bad Blood" and "Lost One Love". I love the Goalby era and this is the weakest of those albums but it has some good stuff.
Sadly, it has some dreadful songs like "Party Time" (might be the worst song ever by a major act), "Rockarama" (the video is awful too and MTV barely played it) and "Skool's Burnin' "-songs so stupid, so inane you'd think they were trying to be Spinal Tap.
Tony Platt's ricidulous production hurts things as well-he threw in everything but the kitchen sink. The album cost over 200,000 at the time and it flopped-Platt should never have worked again!
I can't trust Lemon so I'll stick with the Sony/Legacy release.
P.S.
I think Conquest, Innocent Victim and Different World are worse than this record!
