The sole album release by the infamous Murry Wilson, father of the Beach Boys' three Wilson brothers. A suite of orchestral pop instrumentals, including a Brian Wilson production, a cover of Warmth of the Sun, an Al Jardine original and material written by Wilson Snr himself. Recorded in LA in 1967, this album is an intriguing insight into the mindset of this unique, much discussed character of legend.
A must for any Beach Boys fan or collector, the many moods of Murry Wilson is presented here in its very rare stereo mix and packaged in a digipak with an 8 page booklet containing comprehensive sleeve-notes, production info, etc.
Huge collector’s potential for this much overlooked piece of the jigsaw puzzle that is the Beach Boys story. The vinyl album commands consistently high prices among collectors when it does appear, but has become an increasingly rare presence at record fairs, on eBay, etc.1. Love Won't Wait 2. Happy Song 3. Warmth of the Sun 4. Broken Heart 5. Leaves 6. Plumber's Tune 7. Painting with Teardrops 8. Islands in the Sky 9. Just 'Round the River Bend 10. Italia 11. Heartbreak Lane 12. What the world has been clamoring for! A CD release of Murry Wilson's album!
I guess they've run out of ones by Brian and Dennis to reissue.

I guess they've run out of ones by Brian and Dennis to reissue. Wrong, the Beach Boys have over 300 unreleased songs in the vault. But it's great to see Murry's album reissued, I didn't know Brian and Al were involved in the making of this album.

I guess they've run out of ones by Brian and Dennis to reissue. The many moods of Murry Wilson are: happy, peppy, and bursting with love. Now you don't have to buy it.

Being a Beach Boy's completist I will be getting it. Of course, Cherrry Red is such a cool label, who else would put this out, :}

Love the cover. All those hot young women -- in your dreams, Murry.

Unless you also think they have a complete, final mix of Smile, a secret "decent" version of Summer In Paradise, a copy of Today! that includes a finished "Sandy, She Needs Me" instead of "Bull Session", and the long sought-after volumes 2-15 of Stars and Stripes hidden away in those vaults...

I've read that they have over 300 unreleased songs in the vault, more than any other act.

Speaking of Murry, you will either find this hilarious or in very poor taste:

The moods: drunk, aggressive, moody, abusive, meglomaniacal, dead.

Does dead really qualify as a "mood?"

Murry made The Beach Boys and gave his sons a musical upbringing. He also beat the crap out of Brian and Dennis, in fact he hit Brian on the head and made him deaf in one ear, which is why Brian mixed in mono. Brian did not attend his father's funeral, and I don't really blame him.

Murry also sold the rights to Brian's music to make a quick buck. He did not think The Beach Boy's music would last

Can any Beach Boys fans fill me in on the details behind a bootleg recording of a drunk-sounding Murry at a Beach Boys recording session, repeatedly telling them to "sing with your hearts"?

Yeah, I have this. I believe it was the Help Me Rhonda sessions. As the session wore on more Murry became more antagonistic, saying Al Jardine was singing flat and then telling Brian in front of everybody at the session that he's not the only genius and that Brian and the boys were coasting. Very scary, very "fly on the wall" on what was going on. Brian did stand up for himself I like to add. Rick A.
