Y'know, I bought a Marilyn CD at Jamal's store some time ago, only to discover it's not that Marilyn. Turned out to be a NYC underground/goth/punk chanteuse who was a dance-club regular in the early 80s. Not terrible, but not what I was expecting.

This Marilyn was a British transvestite performer often refered to as "Boy George's friend"(whether that is true or not in unknown), but, like Boy George, Marilyn's career was derailed by hard drug addiction.
